Excellent Voice Work

This narration is the best example of this edition I have heard. Consistent, respectful, compelling and very easy to listen to and study. Thank you for this inspired rendition.

World Class Narration

Fantastic narration good sir! I never read the bible all the way through and always struggled to get down a time and a schedule to do it. Mr. McLean's narration helps keep me engaged with the general ideas and themes expressed throughout the good book. The soothing background music is also a plus. As for the content, well it's the Bible. People either love it or hate it. My personal opinion? This is really a very good book and I would recommend that people read it in the order it is arranged. Really, if there's a suggestion I would have for anybody it would be to read (or hear) this book cover to cover. There have been several publishers that have published "chronological bibles" and other rearrangements. . . . . . I like those but I do like how the arrangement of the books is because it's a balance between historical narrative, details about religious practices, polemtic musings, prophet accounts, etc. . I'm not sure if it'll change your world or change the way you think but for me personally this book has given me a lot to think about in my life, how I treat others, etc etc. . I haven't grown more hateful or judging of anybody since I finished reading this book. I also haven't discovered which political party Jesus wants me to vote for. I also don't even know what the biblical position is on musical instruments during service (nor do I even care). But it has made me much more aware and conscious of my own personal behavior and my own personal ethics in a way I wasn't before, especially in the way I treat other people. I don't want to sound cliche here but to me the overall message is quite clear: "Love One Another". Maybe other people read other things in here but that's just what I heard consistently throughout my first time all the way through.

But let's get back to Max McLean.
As I am writing this (it popped up after I finished Revelations) I am already at the point where Lot gets captured in Genesis. This may not sound like a lot of time but it is. I haven't even thought about stopping the narration. That's how on the point and engaging Max's narration is. I finished this 75 and a half hour audible in a month. A month. I listened to it while go to and back from work. I listened to it while at work on the weekends. I even listened to it while on walks. I even listened to it on days off and weeknights. I am far from a "focused' individual who can stay on track for most projects. But I looked forward to simple activities like driving somewhere, going on a walk, etc. just so I would have an excuse to listen to Max McLean's narration on the bible. Turns out this guy even does entire plays over books of the bible. I watched him do a one man play on the Book of Genesis on youtube and it was even better than what he does here. This guy is like a world class legitimate expert on the skills of narration. He also sounds like a pretty good guy, judging from some of the youtube comments. I'd recommend him for this NIV audible, or any other product he covers.

I hope I meet you someday Max. You sound like a cool guy.

Good material Bad userface by Audible

Because of the size of this book Audible needs to allow for parts of it to be downloaded by chapter providing the name of chapter in relation to the book.

It needs labels - title indicators

The Parts need book labels so the listener can skip around, and find specific books to listen to.
I'm in a bible study, and only wanted to listen to Peter. I had to wait and use my computer, go -online, and lucky for me, a listener, provided an index, a table of contents to accompany the audio. Thank you to the person who provided, the index. Thank you to that listener who did the hard work that the authors should have provided.
It is really hard to navigate and frustrating to have to listen all the way through, not knowing exactly where you are or having to while you're driving try to skip around and hope you land on what you're looking for. It's very time consuming to have to go on-line - go to Audible, and hope to find this index for the audio.

Please re-do this.

Narrator does a great job.

I find the old testament difficult to follow along and study at times. The narrator brings it to life as I follow along in my Bible. Easy to understand.
