Publisher's summary

In 2004, Julie Rowe was a happy wife and mother. Then her health took a turn for the worse. While in a weakened state, her spirit left her body and entered the Spirit World. An ancestor named John greeted her and showed her many wonderful places there. He also allowed her to read from the Book of Life, which showed her a panorama of the earth's past, present, and future.

Julie saw the lives of many historical figures, such as Adam and Eve, Enoch, Noah, and Moses. She witnessed the Savior's mortal life, including his crucifixion and resurrection. She also saw the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ through the prophet Joseph Smith, and key events that have led to the Church's growth.

Then Julie was shown upcoming world events that will be both tragic and glorious. She saw earthquakes, tsunamis, famines, plagues, and wars, but she also witnessed how the Lord is watching over His people and is preparing places of refuge to protect them from the coming calamities. Julie was filled with joy as she saw the Saints establish the New Jerusalem and other Cities of Light in preparation for the Savior's Second Coming.

Prior to her return, she was told that at a future time she would be expected to tell others about her experience. That time has come.

As you listen to Julies experience, your life will be changed as you feel the Lord's love and concern for each of us.

Probably not a real NDE story

This felt cobbled together from several sources with which I am familiar. I could have written this account.

Her experience simply confirmed everything she already believed--often literally verbatim from LDS sources. Which could, of course, mean that it's true. We'll see.

Reader is terrible

What disappointed you about A Greater Tomorrow?

The performance is terrible. I didn't even make it through the whole book. Story may or may not have been good, but I will never know. I gave up an hour into it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Emma Daybell’s performances?

No way.

not a very good performance

If you can't sit down and read it then by all means listen to this. The performance/reading was so monotone and boring I found myself nodding off a lot. But i love the book for what it is.

A Book Everyone Should Read

Any additional comments?

I read this book and look forward to hearing it now.I have studied some near death experiences from other books. What makes this account different is that Julie was given a view of the future events that will occur. There are things very comforting about what's in the future and there is a warning for us all. It's a great blessing the Lord has provided us.In case you have ever read part of the bible, take a look at the following verse - Joel 2:28.
Great work Julie! I know it must be hard to come out public with this. Thank you for your great service!

Great book, poor narration.

Would you listen to A Greater Tomorrow again? Why?

Yes to be able to glean and solidify anything I missed from listening only once to the book.

What did you like best about this story?

The content and details she shares.

Would you be willing to try another one of Emma Daybell’s performances?

NO, it was painful. She began each sentence and ended each sentence with the same tone of voice. Monotonous to say the least which made the great content difficult to listen to. I almost quit listening to it altogether.

Not buying it

I’m not saying she is lying, necessarily. She seems heavily swayed by her religious beliefs. I’ve read many nde books. Whatever this girl experienced (if she experienced anything) it was not a nde. Sorry. I’m just not buying it.

unnecessary info

the first half of the book was unnecessary to write. she could have just said everything in the Bible and everything in the church is just as written. she didn't add anything new

wordy

she reiterates much of what we learned in Sunday school. I guess she was refrained.

Loved the book, needed a different narrator

The book was great. I really enjoyed it. The narrator seemed a bit young and a little dry. Speed was great but needed more emotion.

Good

Narrator sounds like a young teen girl with no experience. That was painful but the book & content are good!
