Happy Crying

First of all, I want to warn you not to listen to the last 20% of the book in public. Unless you're not bothered by others seeing you happy-cry.

'Red, White & Royal Blue' is a love song to politics, equal love, and the world as we wish it would be. It's very much a 21st century version of 'The American President', complete with a version of President Shepherd's 'I've love two women' speech. Only this time it's delivered by Alex Claremont-Diaz, First Son.

The love story between Alex and Prince Henry is sweet, funny, and smart. I know I'll be listening to it again in the future.

A few notes:
1. The narration by Ramon de Ocampo is spot-on
2. The novel is written in 3rd person/present continuous tense. It was jarring in the beginning, but my ears finally got sort of used to it.

President's Son & Prince

I heard a great deal about this book and when it appeared in my Kindle Unlimited, I had to give it a read/listen. I enjoyed this book more than I expected to. It was funny, romantic, heartwarming and sexy. Alex and Henry were fabulous and I loved their snarky, sweet, sexy, funny banter. The emails and texts were a highlight of the book. It had a political background and a ton of extra people surrounding them that were often difficult to follow. Alex being the President's son has a grudge against Henry and when a mishap occurs, they must spend time together. Time together turns into romance and develops into a caring relationship. Alex was a jerk that I eventually liked, but I adored Henry. The politics got a bit too heavy, especially in the last chapter. When the focus was on the two, it was a much better book. The only thing I was disappointed in was the heat. This book was not hot enough, if you are going to write a sexy romance, then bring the heat! I listened to this on audiobook and Ramon de Campo did a fabulous job. Now I have to see the Prime film with those two gorgeous guys.

The best book in the world: Red White and Royal blue

I absolutely love this book. I think it’s beautifully well written and is just an amazing book. The narrator took some time to get used to because I was not excepting his voice to be the voice reading the book. However he did the British accents flawlessly and I still thought it was a good performance. Overall I love this audiobook and would listen to it again a million times. I love how it covers so many different topics but they are all connected by the underlying theme of the story. Hope and love is stronger than anything that you can throw at people. That sounds really cheesy but I promise it’s accurate and perfect for this book. To anyone deciding if they want to spend their hard earned credits to listen to this love story my answer is yes. It’s so much more than just a love story. This book is one of the BEST books I’ve ever read. Please I’m begging you, listen to it.

Beautiful love story for our time

Oh I Soooo wish this had a different reader. The story and the dialogue were great. I laughed out loud on multiple occasions. However it was all inspite of the reader. His horrible British accent which often attached itself to folks who were not British and his pronunciation (David Bowie - Boh eee, not Bow eee) was horrid.

Absolute incredible and narration.

Beautiful story and cleverly done. The characters are absolutely endearing, and the development is relevant and modern while still complex.
