Publisher's summary

From the author of Gunslingers: A Story of the Old West comes a second novel about frontier freedom and justice on the American Frontier and the Old West.

Red River Reunion is a classic western fiction novel set in 1877 that traces the lives of US Deputy Marshal Luxton Danner and Texas Ranger Wes Payne during their latest Texas adventures, where they risk everything to defend the meek, uphold frontier law, and satisfy their pursuit of doing what no other men can.

Tragic circumstances, lawlessness, and villainy, mark life in the Old West as settlers and law enforcement band together to survive and thrive and create a safe and prosperous future for all. Fans of Layne's distinctive style will enjoy his rich characters and period details that bring the Old West back to life.

Men of Valor!

Another great Western by Layne--and very well told by Johnson. I want the good guys to win and Red River Reunion doesn't disappoint. I particularly like Johnson's ethnic characters: the Irish bartender and nun, the Mexican livery man, the German immigrant. I look forward to Book #3!

Absolutely Outstanding!

Like the author, I am a Western genre enthusiast and I am always looking for the next good story to listen to on Audible. I stumbled across Mr. Lane’s book by chance and listened to his first book “Gunslingers” almost nonstop. I didn’t wait 5 minutes before purchasing Red River Reunion after finishing Gunslingers! The depth of the characters and his descriptions of the landscapes, animals, towns, and everything else puts you right there in the story with them.
I hope that Mr. Lane is writing another chapter to Wes, Danner, and Chance’s incredible stories.

One of my favorites

I absolutely love this story. This book is action packed yet easy to follow. I love the historical accuracy woven into this western fiction book. The narrator does a great job with the voices and is so soothing to listen to.

Love this series!

I’ve listened to both books while driving. The first one seemed a bit slow at first. Once he got his ground story it picked right up. Red river picks up right where the first left off. The characters really make the books work. Can’t wait for his next book in this series.
