Publisher's summary

Elizabeth has fine eyes, no wealth, and eminently unsuitable connections.
Darcy finds that he can neither act on his feelings for her nor wish them away.

Elizabeth Bennet happens upon Georgiana in Ramsgate, along with her companion and an old family friend. Her new acquaintance seems to have everything: family, fortune and love. But when Elizabeth observes some strange things, she suspects that all is not as it appears, and a few well-intentioned words set into motion a surprising series of events.

Fitzwilliam Darcy’s desperate search for his missing sister leads him to meet a young lady, Miss Elizabeth Bennet, who has fine eyes but lacks wealth and has completely unsuitable connections. His mind is made up; he will depart Ramsgate and forget this woman. His heart has other ideas.

Wickham threatens to make trouble for both the Darcys and the Bennets. Mr. Darcy has spent years cleaning up Wickham’s trail of debts and other indiscretions, never able to bring himself to take decisive action. Surely there is a way to deal with this miscreant once and for all?

Loved Every Moment

This is such a great story from beginning to end. There are so many great moments. The premise takes us to a different Pride and Prejudice with every joy at each new step. Harry Frost is wonderful as the reader.

Enjoyable

Elizabeth and Georgiana meet one another in Ramsgate, and become friends. With hints from Elizabeth to be wary of Wickham, Georgiana finally realises something is not right and goes to her and Mrs. Gardiner for refuge until her brother can be summoned.

This is another enjoyable story from this author, but there are no big surprises with this rather common storyline, and no significant misunderstandings between ODC. Even Darcy’s proposal was civil, but not the most romantic. Wickham does offer a touch of angst in Meryton, and I liked how Mr. Bennet takes action right away. However, it’s the loyal young men of the town who hand him some local justice until Darcy takes him over.

Harry Frost’s performance and narration is always great, and this book was no exception. I give him five stars.

Sweet and clean variation.

Easy going, enjoyable story

This is low angst without being dull and overly predictable. I love the "oh no you did NOT say that about my sister!" moment from Lydia when Wickham tried to slander Lizzy. There's no big argument or offensive proposal. it's Colonel Fitzwilliam who puts paid to Darcy's money and connections fussing.

The bad guys are the usual bad guys, but caught quicker and before any serious damage, although Lizzy had to endure a couple of hours of sociall discomfort before things turned around again.

I sped it up a smidge. I think my enjoyment was somewhat increased by that.

This is wonderful

I really enjoyed this book. Harry Frost is a very talented narrator, and this was an extremely interesting book to narrate.
Darcy and Elizabeth were never at odds with one another and never misunderstanding motives etc. Wickham was terrible, but he received the retribution he deserved. I loved Mrs. Gardiner and her children. Also loved Georgiana.
