Loyalty. Deception. Family secrets.

Mr. Bennet has a son. Longbourn has an heir. Elizabeth is an heiress.

When the master of Longbourn dies, the estate is inherited by Jonathan Bennet, the eldest son of Thomas. Alongside his sister Elizabeth, Jonathan finds himself caught in the tense household of their father's second wife, Fanny Bennet, whose bitterness towards her stepchildren leads to escalating conflicts. As Jonathan marries and the Bennet family is divided, Fanny schemes to regain control of Longbourn, determined to rid herself of the family she resents.

The arrival of the Netherfield party only adds to the chaos. Amid the turmoil, Elizabeth Bennet's budding love with the aloof Mr. Darcy becomes the center of intrigue and manipulation. With enemies lurking in unexpected places, Elizabeth and Darcy must navigate the treacherous waters of loyalty, deception, and family secrets. But not all is as it seems, and when several conspire to keep them apart, their love may be tested beyond repair.

In this reimagined classic, the stakes are higher, and the heartache deeper—will love find a way, or will the shadows of the past tear them apart?

A Darcy and Elizabeth Pride and Prejudice variation featuring a son to inherit Longbourn and Elizabeth Bennet with a dowry. The story takes place primarily at Longbourn and Netherfield.

Loved this version! I have read it but listening to this story brings it vibrantly to life. Harry Frost is so talented and his voice telling the story had me hanging onto the edge of my seat even though I had previously read the book.

The Bennets, in this book, are wholly reconstituted. Mr Bennet is deceased and his eldest is a son who is now master of the estate. He and Elizabeth are children of his first (and happy) marriage. Jane is the eldest of the widowed Mrs Bennet from his second (and very unhappy) marriage.

This is a full on vagary. It has most of the same characters but the story unfolds in a much different manner. Bad Bingleys, evil Caroline, Mrs Bennet and Wickham. A must read!

Harry Frost, excellent as always, the story was pretty great. Elizabeth was actually witty with witty remarks! The only reason I gave the story four stars was because it started to drag and get a bit silly towards the end. Moss Bingley went nuclear unhinged which just felt a step too far. But the actual love story was sweet.

Top 10 Variation!

Two things keep me from giving 5 stars. One is the lack of development of the relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy which resulted in lack of closeness, The other is the absence of clarity in what happened in Jason Bennett’s escape from bondage

I am a fan of Melissa Anne's variations. I did enjoy this and find it entertaining and a good listen.
It is not my favorite of her variations, but still overall very enjoyable.
There is a Bennet son and heir. He and Elizabeth are from a previous marriage.
I like that Darcy begins calling on Elizabeth early in the book and their love blossoms.
I found that the machinations of Caroline & Mrs. Bennet are a lot over the top.
There is low angst here which I do like and a lot of Darcy and Elizabeth on page time.
It is worth a credit and I did enjoy it.

Entertaining; lots of ODC time

Between the madness of Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins comes the wickedness of Caroline Bingley and Wickham, who are four of the strangest villains to ever ally. In the midst of their craziness are Elizabeth Bennet, her elder brother, Charlotte, and Mr. Darcy.

The author combines humor and drama to craft a heartwarming tale that strikes the right balance of smiles and sadness, creating a riveting story. Definitely a great listen.

Crazy Fun
