Contains books one and two of Quick Change, a litRPG adventure series.

Slyborn, book one

Seth Andersen, a UX designer, was driving home from a bad day at work when his world changed, literally. Seth is instantly transferred to the world of Morgenheim, where knights in shining armor and magic are normal, and citizens must actually “level up” to get stronger. Seth is given the chance to choose a boon from a list of incredible super powers, but accidentally chooses seemingly the most useless power in the list. Can he make it on his own in this world of magic and monsters?

Spire, book two

The only way out is up. Seth and the Adventurers’ Guild survived their clash with the Howlingshields and have been rebuilding the last few months. While Seth is mostly used to life in the land of Morgenheim, he’s struggling with the responsibilities that come with being a high level member in the guild.

While completing a quest as a favor to his friend Pahan, Seth inadvertently catches the attention of Djinia, goddess of adventurers, and is given a seemingly impossible quest that will require the help of the Adventurers’ Guild and their primary rivals, the Transportation Guild. When the two groups aren’t sabotaging each other, their combined might overcomes numerous dungeons with surprising ease...until they catch sight of a thin spire stretching high into the sky at the center of a mysterious desert.

Hope the next one comes out soon. There were times I did not like the mc but what the heck.

Good bang for the credit!

Good story, it’s a slower start for an litrpg but, worth the listen. My only complaint is I would have enjoyed a more complex story tread through out the book.

Slower start, but it grows on ya

No quick changing the mind on this one it's a good story strong characters with a nice flow from the beginning there are some drawn out parts that may be a little on the exhausting side at times but those are few and far between it's 1 of those ones where a mistake got made but it was a good mistake can't wait for the next 1 to come out go publishers packs this 1 was definitely tailor made for publishers pack if they had done it book 1 book 2 people me not have come back for the 2nd 1 So this is the best type of format for these books

It's easy to see the story lines the author is trying to explore. However he fails to build up any foundation for more than just the main arc. If he were to spend more effort on character development, and treat them less like a D&D spreadsheet he could really have something here.

The narrator should also develope more voice diversity. All of the female dialogue sounds the same, and the male voices only have 4 options.

Needs Character Development.

I'm not a word Smith, but neither is the writer of this book. there's a lot of interaction between people that doesn't seem natural or real. the wording is wrong somewhat grammatically. but I think worse than most things is the person reading the book doesn't understand the situations he is reading. he doesn't put any intensity or inflection in any of his words and just speaks as if he's talking to somebody about a list of things. he has a nice tone but does not modify it and he does not have any comedic timing at all. this post that I have just written is probably just as grammatically correct as the book.

bad wording

I really enjoyed this pack. The story was fun, characters were well designed, and the lore of the world is right there under the surface taunting you (the MC) the entire time. My only gripe is it felt rushed, like there wasn't a lot of time for action build up. Honestly looking forward to seeing the next books come out

Decent story overall

I really hate the minimum word count requirements for audible reviews. . . . .

ok book

The story is pretty good,
The narrator adds falling intonations to sentences about 20% too much. This is somewhat common with audiobook narrators so maybe this is some sort of intentional trend that is building in the audiobook narrator community.

The minus 2 stars for performance are because there are two obvious cuts in the audio book where the editor didn't add in material correctly; the second cut removes some important details about what is going on in the book. The two I found are relatively close together at about [book 2, chapter 29, 16:05:04 ] and [ book chapter 29, 16:04:40 ] .

beyond these, another -1 star for the random cuts that bump words against each other as though the editor was too tired or too busy and just trying to nug out a product.

The editor accidentally edited too much

The performance wasn’t as good as the story is but it’s still a good listen, especially since it’s 2/1. I’m planning to get the next book. This is a family friendly adventure with realistic characters. It’s more about the MCs interactions with others and his ability to adapt to his new environment than the addiction to their newfound superpowers that typical litrpg characters tend to have. I like the fresh perspective and the fact that there are multiple characters I can invest in. Good start.

Good Start to a Good Story

The voices are on point, and it is read well. So far, this is just a basic story with a super basic main character (¤MC). I will go through and update this after the second book as well.... if I can do it.

Update:

I was wrong about the story being basic. The main character is a warrior and things were reflected in the story to .... reinforce that. a little annoying. but not enough to stop me. A few things: The performance does have some kinks. the inflection is sometimes off for reading prompts. not too annoying. some breathing can be unnecessary... but no one is perfect... and I don't feel that needs to be a negative. it could be stylistic.

I do like the story, and it is compelling. it was a slow start though. The second book makes me want to buy the third one.

I think the performance was good
