Love the Read

Pretty action packed. I thought the lead girl was a little all over the place with some serious issues but hopefully in the next book she'll show some strength. I will be reading book 2, knowing it'll be just as good.

Great Series!

Start with Pacific Prep(it's the start of everything). Pacific is amazing and Black Creek (will blow your mind) is after this series

Crazy Story

This series is really good. It is full of twists and turns, suspense and angst, love and lust, happiness and anger. It has it all. I am anxious to see how this plays out. Michael Gallagher has these characters coming to life. He is so great.

Nice to see this group get there own series

Interesting start to this series. of course there's a lot of sex. a stalker and a pissed off lover make for some tension and anger. at least two of the guys are on Em's side. Ends in a cliffhanger. now onto book two.

Problematic portrayal of abuse.

The first half of this book SUCKED. In fact, I'd decided I no longer liked any of these characters (carryovers from Pacific Prep). It does get better...well, except for Wilder.

SPOILER ALERT...

Hadley has enormously imposed on Hawk and her friend/family (Wilder) by secretly moving their "ex" (Emilia) into THEIR OWN HOUSE, without their permission, thus forcing them to stay in the frat house if they don't want to see her. Hawk and Kai specialize in security work helping abused women, but neither blinks twice when Wilder almost strangles Emilia, making her lips turn blue and leaving bruises on her neck, nor do they attempt to stop him from nearly killing her! (Even Hadley had nothing to say when she learned about the abuse.) Emilia decides it's her own fault that a man she rejected four years ago is physically and sexually abusive to her, and it's her responsibility to make things okay for him.

WHAT GREAT MESSAGING TO FEMALE READERS! I can only imagine all the young women reading this who think that if they tolerate, even encourage, men to abuse them, they'll get their very own HEA!

The narrators are okay. VERY slow. (Have to listen at 1.3x.) Neither seems to really try to differentiate between the different MMCs voices.
