Publisher's summary

Dane Golden - best friend. Temptation in football cleats. Roommate?

I’m screwed.

His followers don’t call him Pretty Boy D for nothing. The guy is, literally, God’s gift to women. I should know. I’ve watched chicks throw themselves at him since puberty.

Sharing his loft should be simple. Easy. But shortly after I settle in, we realize being "just friends" was so much easier when we weren’t sleeping under the same roof.

Seven years of thinking we had this down to a science goes out the window the night Dane sees my “Never Have I Ever” list. Now, he’s on a mission to help me cross off the top four items. Some of which aren’t quite as innocent as he’d expect.

What he’s proposing will break the rules we agreed to when I first came to stay here. He wants me to give in, to let my guard down, and face my feelings for once. At least, that’s what that wicked look in his eyes and the mounting heat between us suggests.

This isn’t how I imagined being roommates would go. But a girl can only stare temptation in its green eyes for so long and not weaken.

My best friend wants to have his way with me, and, right or wrong...I think I might let him.

Pretty Boy D is a full-length stand-alone novel. This book can absolutely be heard on its own, but when you’re done, it’s recommended that you check out more from the Golden triplets and Joss in the complete enemies-to-lovers trilogy Kings of Cypress Prep.

Do you enjoy the frustratingly hot push and pull of a good-friends-to-lovers or roommates-to-lovers romance? Then you’ll love getting to know Dane and Joss. Due to adult themes and sexual situations, this one’s only for the 18+ crowd. Expect an HEA and no trigger warnings needed.

Pretty Boy D

omg okay, I just about fell in love with Dane & Joss story. I'm so glad that she finally gave in. I've been wanting them to be together since the beginning of the series. And can I just say I'm a bit disappointed 😞 at the end? I mean, I so wanted there to be a next chapter. I was so hoping she came out pregnant. But still, this was a good book. I can't wait to see what's going on with the last brother. Oh boy, how will his story end up? 🤔😏

Friends to Lovers… Yes Please!!

Pretty Boy D is an entertaining friends to lovers romance. Told in dual narration, narrators Angel Pean, Blake Lockheart and Sarah Puckett bring the story of Dane and Joss to life.

This story is part of an interconnected standalone series where each book follows a different couple. You don’t have to read the previous 3 books to enjoy this story.

This story had a gossip girl vibe for sure.

Overall a fun and entertaining story.

4 stars!

Sweet addition to the Golden Boys!

Dane and Joss have been best friends since the sixth grade, sharing all of their secrets, triumphs, and tragedies. Both are hopelessly in love with the other, but too guarded to risk their friendship for their shot at happily ever after.

What happens when they take a risk and let go and finally live? This story is a beautiful coming of age book with excellent narration. You’ll fall in love with these two, while this a stand alone book, it’s best enjoyed in order.

I couldn't stop smiling while listening ❤️

So I looooved West and Blue's trilogy and I was nervous about Joss and Dane because of all the build-up with their friendship and knowing they were going to eventually get together. I was pleasantly surprised by the storyline, in terms of Dane's influencer/branding and Joss' tie-in with her degree. I liked that this story didnt focus 100% on the steam, like yes it was there, but this was about discovery, growth, and just taking like day by day and how to overcome some tough issues. I really enjoyed Dane, more than I thought I would. I always thought he was arrogant and a playboy in the trilogy, but this showed a completely different side to him that only Joss got to see. Joss on the other hand did irk me a bit. I just wanted to scream at her to just do it, stop overthinking!! That is why I downgraded it from a 5 to 4 stars because some of the Joss feelings/actions/inner monologues got pretty repetitive for me. I did really like the push and pull between them, how others tried to meddle but they ended up there for each other and overcoming them. I did enjoy the cameos and setting the stage for the next books in the series. I loved the list they made and went through that summer, and just how adorable the love story was. I haven't giggled or smiled so much while listening to an audiobook ever, I think.

In terms of the narration, both narrators were totally on point. I think I liked Blake better in his performances, but thought Angel did a good job even if I needed to speed her up a bit more because of her cadence. I thought these narrators really emoted and became the characters, I could imagine them in my minds eye and appreciated their portrayals to help elevate the story for me. I loved duet narration and thought it was perfect for this book.

100% recommend and cannot wait to more from these authors are available on audio!

Finally... VV and Pretty Boy D get their HEA!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been waiting on Dane and Jocelyn's story since book 1 of this series!!

Vixen Virgin and Pretty Boy D have been teasing us with their "will they, won't they" vibe from the start! That truth or dare scene in the last book had me chasing that dangling carrot only to have it taken away.

Loved their friendship, love and respect and absolute trust in eachother.

Blake Lockheart was a great choice for Dane, who is by far the sweetest of the Golden Boys. His voice conveyed his love for Jocelyn and his fierce protection and loyalty to her.

Angel Pean is brand new to me and I really really loved her as Jocelyn. She has a great smoky voice that I felt was perfect as VV.

Sarah Puckett reprised her role of Pandora, the all knowing gossip queen, the one we love to hate! In the end though, she's got the Golden Gang's back.

New Adult romance, friends to lovers, gossip girl vibe!!

** To get the most out of this book you really need to listen to the previous books.

Authors do not disappoint in this take off

I received this audiobook free for an honest review as a member of Pink Flamingo Productions review team. Loved this series. The first three were a trilogy and this 4th book is a standalone. However, it is nice to know the characters in the previous books. The authors did a great job of keeping the listener's/reader's interest. The relationship between Dane and Joss started when they were kids and best friends. As their relationship grows and they both fight it, minimal angst shows its ugly head, but makes this story exciting. Love what these authors give us. This is quality writing. The narrators did a great job. Pandora ties these characters together and adds suspense to the story, wondering what she will do next. Looking for more.

Best Friends To Lovers Romance

Pretty Boy D by Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne is a best friends to lovers romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Blake Lockheart, Angel Pean, and Sarah Puckett. This is the fourth book in the Kings of Cypress Pointe series and can be read as a standalone.

The Book does come with an author note "Do you enjoy the frustratingly hot push and pull of a good friends-to-lovers or roommates-to-lovers romance? Then you’ll love getting to know Dane and Joss. Due to adult themes and sexual situations, this one’s only for the 18+ crowd. Expect an HEA and no trigger warnings needed."

I absolutely love Rachel and Nikki's books! I was so excited to finally get Joss and Dane's story and it did not disappoint! I loved watching their relationship from from friends to lovers. I really enjoyed that we got Dane, Joss, and Pandora's point of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Mr. Silver to be released on December 26, 2021 so I can get Sterling's story!

Blake, Angel, and Sarah did a great job on the narration. I can't wait to listen to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you love friends-to-lovers romance, roommates-to-lovers romance, or contemporary romance.

Will she give him a chance?

This is an amazing story and an outstanding performance by the three narrators. Will Joss, the Virgin Vixen, give her best friend Dane what he wants? Will Dane, Pretty Boy D, get the one girl he's loved since he met her at the age of twelve? Absolutely loved this Audible book!!!

Ensnared

Dane and Joss or as Pandora likes to call them Pretty Boy D and his VV. Best friends since forever and now roommates. Will they finally admit what everyone already knows? Will they cross the line from friends to more?
Oh my, I had forgotten just how much I love Pandora, the Golden Boys, and their Gang. If you are expecting a deep, complex read, skip this book but if you are looking for a purely fun read, grab it now. This was a perfect friends-to-lovers story. Even knowing the outcome, I couldn't get through the story fast enough. I wanted these two together so much but kept expecting Dane to lose her. I know readers got frustrated with Joss and I get it, I do but fear is irrational. When someone means everything to you and you are desperate not to lose them, I can understand how the safe path made sense with her parent's history. I knew she would finally take a chance. I was more worried about Dane messing things up. He knew his bestie retreated and hid when scared, yet he allowed it and went off with Shawna. Stupid and rather thoughtless towards both girls. I didn't love Shawna but she didn't deserve false hope. I also didn't see how Dane would allow himself to be controlled/manipulated by Rose. So out of character for a Golden. But in the end, Pretty Boy D lived up to his reputation and I got the HFN I was wishing for. I can't wait to see what mess Silver has gotten himself in next.

Angel Pean and Blake Lockheart put on a solid performance. Blake is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators. Angel was new to me but I thought she captured Joss's inner angst nicely. Sarah Puckett back as Pandora was once again PERFECTION. She makes me want an entire book on the mysterious Pandora. Later Peeps, J
