Story
A blinding snowstorm - and a homicidal maniac - traps a small party of friends in an isolated estate. Out of this deceptively simple setup, Agatha Christie fashioned one of her most ingenious puzzlers, which in turn would provide the basis for The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in history. From this classic title novella to the deliciously clever gems on its tail (solved to perfection by Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple), this rare collection of murder most foul showcases Christie at her inventive best.

Hercule Poirot made his first public appearance in 1920 at the age, one guesses, of about 60. He finally breathed his metaphorical last in 1975 at the age of maybe 75 or 80. And in that short span of time — either 55 years or about 20, depending on how you count it — Poirot became one of England’s most profitable and ubiquitous export commodities.

An Entertaining Collection
This collection of short stories was wildly entertaining. Poirot and Hastings are involved in cases ranging from theft, murder, greed and revenge. Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors, and will always be known as a world renowned writer where one will never tire of her adventures.
Richard Armitage's interpretation of Poirot and Hastings was delightful. His uncommon range of voices gave each character a life off the written page.

Delightful collection of Christie's Poirot tales
The real hero of this group of short Poirot mysteries is it's performer, Richard Armitage, without whose spirited narration they might go somewhat limp. I continue to be amazed at how well he channels David Suchet, which only adds to the fun.
