For decades, the human race was trapped within the solar system, held prisoner by a hostile alien race known as the Screen. Though the technology to explore the universe existed, certain death awaited anyone brave—or foolish—enough to test their boundaries.
Earth’s military and government resigned themselves to the bitter truth that humans would never explore the stars—until the crew of the experimental starship EXODUS defied the odds. Rechristened the PHOENIX and commanded by former cadets John Roberts and Julie Olson, the ship became the first to defeat the Screen and escape the solar system.
Now PHOENIX has ventured into uncharted territory, and the crew’s adventures are just beginning. They left Earth under false pretenses, and TERRA—Earth’s military arm—is none too pleased. Brash, untested Captain Roberts and his executive officer must prove themselves worthy and return home as heroes—or face the wrath of an entire planet.
