Weeks before NYPD Detective Michael Bennett is to marry his longtime love, Mary Catherine, an assassin announces his presence in the city with a string of grisly murders. Each victim is a young woman. And each has been killed in a manner as precise as it was gruesome. Tasked with working alongside the FBI, Bennett and his gung-ho new partner uncover multiple cold-case homicides across the country that fit the same distinctive pattern - proving the perpetrator they seek is as experienced at ending lives as he is at evading detection.

My review may seem unfair
Having read all the Jack Reacher books but obviously failing to recall every one of the titles I purchased this book the moment I saw it in the “new release” section. I suppose Audible doesn’t have a rerelease section and thought they would just put it under new. I started the book and was seriously disappointed when about one minute in I realized what this was. I should have realized when I saw the narrator was Dick Hill but sadly I didn’t. So my review says more about the listing than the book itself.

Inexplicable re-release
This is a re-release of book 7 from over a decade ago, I didn't remember the title and Audible didn't show that it was already in my library like it would normally. I was just happy that Dick Hill had came out of retirement or so I thought. Fortunately Audible has a excellent return policy.

Re-release, NOT new.. but still Classic Reacher!
This title is a re-release, not a new novel, and it should have said as much in the description. The story is excellent, and the narration is also classic Dick Hill. If you don't own this title then you need to, it's classic Reacher!
I thought it was a little strange that the book had already been released as an audio book, but I went ahead and ordered it thinking there might have been something different about it... Well, the only real difference I can see is that my original purchase of this book a few years ago in no longer available now. So, I'm confused.. My original purchase is no longer available, with no explanation or refund, and then I had to purchase this re-release to maintain my complete collection. Somehow I don't think that is very fair to those of us that already paid for it, especially with no notification or explanation to why this has happened. Audible please explain and do what's right by those of us that have now purchased book 7 twice.
Again, the story and narration is awesome and a must for all Reacher fans, and if you want to complete your collection again, this re-release is necessary.
