Publisher's summary

Forced into a difficult choice, Sam steps onto the Path of Stars, the ancient trail through the galaxy that will lead him to the history of the Astral Titans. Hundreds or even thousands of years may pass before he can see his family again. Fortunately, time on Aster Fall moves more slowly due to the presence of the Nexus, but he worries for all the things he's left undone.

With each step Sam takes, secrets new and old unfurl before his eyes. Some of them hint at the heritage of Asenya, the World Forger, and others about the grandeur of the Astral Titans, the greatest builders that the galaxy has ever known. However, no one has seen a Titan in over a million years.

The Path of Stars promises an answer to the mystery of his transformation and the true history of the race. Primordial enchantments, crafting, and battles await in the fifth volume of this epic series!

not bad

just pretty repetitive. fights are the same fights over and over again and the advancements and level ups pretty much feel the same over and over

finally getting to see the big picture

a lot of this book is explanation about the bigger secrets of the universe that had been hinted at. up to this point we don't really no much about what outsiders are and why they really are a problem or why the titans weren't easily able to deal with them. this book answered a lot of those questions while also expanding on Sam's powers and understanding.

A Stellar Continuation

If you're a fan of epic fantasy, action-packed adventure, and complex characters, you need to check out the Guardian of Aster Fall series by David North. I've been hooked on this series since the first book, and I'm happy to say that the fifth installment, Path of Stars, does not disappoint.

Path of Stars picks up where the fourth book left off, with our heroes facing new dangers and challenges as he learns of the history fo the Astral Titans, and begins his path.

The book is full of crafting and battles, surprises and revelations, as we learn more about the history and secrets of Aster Fall, the mysterious realm where the guardians draw their power from. We also get to see more of the diverse and fascinating cultures and lands that make up this richly imagined universe.

But what really makes this book stand out is the character development. The author does a masterful job of making us care about each and every one of his protagonists, even when they make mistakes or disagree with each other. He shows us their hopes and fears, their strengths and weaknesses, their joys and sorrows. He makes us root for them, cry for them, and cheer for them. He also gives us some insight into the villains' motivations and backgrounds, making them more than just evil caricatures.

The book is narrated by John Pirhalla and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker, who do an excellent job of bringing the characters and the story to life. They have distinct and expressive voices for each character, and they convey the emotions and nuances of the scenes with skill and passion. They also have great chemistry and timing, making the dialogue flow smoothly and naturally.

Path of Stars is a thrilling and satisfying continuation of the series that will leave you wanting more. Luckily, the story continues in Echoes of War (Guardian of Aster Fall Book 6), which I can't wait to read. If you haven't started this series yet, do yourself a favor and give it a listen. You won't regret it.

Getting Stronger

Another good addition to the series only this is more of a solo tale where Sam goes off on his own to complete the Astral Titan requirements and gets a whole lot stronger in the process. He was already ahead of the curve strength-wise but this book turns that up to 11. Definitely recommended if you are already enjoying the series.

The mc is kinda dumb

Enjoyable story. John Pirhalla and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker did an amazing job. But yeah that mc is thick headed and not very creative or doesn’t feel like he knows what he is doing. Also outer space in this book makes no sense!

Amazing story telling

I love this series so far, this one has quite the unique style and immense details of what is going on with the main character, but is still a good continuation of this great story ❤️
