Game changer for your mind!

So, my wife introduced this copy to our family to read as a group.
I, a happily married, father of two teens, finished this book in two days. This book is a primer for anyone wanting to take control of your emotional well-being. Sarah writes so spritely and it kept me flipping through pages eager for the next exercise. It's a fun read because you sense that each paragraph has a new gem to help you "investigate" your own emotional intelligence.
This book, as the author notes, is not just for teens. I personally gained so much encouragement to get to the bottom of me in a much deeper motivation. In fact, I traveled back in my time to analyze my own teen experience and managed to appreciate my trials and resolve them from my present perspectives! Very healing.
The Chapters are cleverly lined up. For example, you first define exactly what emotional intelligence is and your "why" for you before you can possibly begin your repair and/or preparation of you.
Personally, I found chapter one to be great. Didn't know how much I cruise through my days in autopilot until I examined myself thoroughly.
"Tuning in" was huge. Learning to reacquaint me to me, and to actually like what I saw has been a work in progress for decades. I appreciated how she gently broke down the biology of emotions with spiritual work and science.
I think the very most important part of this book is how she teaches that in order to love yourself, you really need to understand others who challenge that. I have been most healed, by learning to wear the shoes of those who make me emotional. That is a tough and wonderful insight that we humans need to practice more. We are not perfect, nor are they. Damage is not unique to me. Perhaps I can empathize and meet them in the healing waters together if I choose to.
A teen would best enjoy the brain dump exercises and takeaways that highlight and solidify what was taught at the end of each chapter. Very useful.
Now, as I said, it's a primer. Sarah could probably write volumes about specific techniques, but to keep a teen focused you really needed to keep it concise. She does encourage breathwork, meditation, exercise, and so on, but it would be a much larger read if she specified the Wim Hof breathing techniques, or Kundalini yoga practice's. Sarah suggests many authors and sites clearly her material if you hopefully wish to dig deeper.
I like Sarah's writing. She is a kindred sister and natural guide to the path of true freedom that is available to us, by us. You only have to be brave enough to face you.
Own Your Own Mind is helping me be a better husband, father, son, and friend. I hope and pray that this is only the beginning to a series of works that she offers.
Thanks Sarah!
Eternally grateful

Tips and Tools for all Teens to Regulate their Emotions

This book could not have come out at a better time! As a mom of two preteen boys, this book really hit home for me. The book shares amazing tips and tools for teens to help identify their emotions and triggers, self-regulate, understand social awareness, and know what to do when they are emotionally overwhelmed. I absolutely loved the Weekly Canvas that was provided to help teens look at their schedule and find time in their day to add activities for self-care and things that bring them joy. I cannot wait to do this with my own children this week! The chapter Own My Temper was one that I had to read with my middle son because it showed him that anger is a normal emotion and healthy ways to manage it. Not only does this book have so many amazing tools, it also shows teens that they are not alone in having these emotional rollercoasters and there are ways to cope with all of them. I would highly recommend this book!

Mind Empowerment

I love books about mindset because essentially it eases anxiety and builds confidence. No one should have to walk around battling themselves. Mindset is truly the end all be all to self-management and overall wellbeing.

Even in my late twenties, I found its range profoundly thought-provoking, offering valuable insights into managing sentiments and fostering healthy contemplation. The interactive approach, engaging narration, and journaling prompts furnished in the audio version make it an excellent choice for engaging reluctant teen readers and allowing listeners to track their personal growth. Highly recommended for its timely guidance on understanding emotions and self-regulation.

Two thumbs way up!👍🏻👍🏻

How often do we stop and consider the thoughts and feelings of the people we interact with every day? From schoolmates and teachers to family, friends, and community members, we meet a diverse range of people daily. But do we truly understand their perspectives and appreciate their unique qualities?”
Sarah has nailed the middle school emotional roller coaster. I love the bonus journal, the “dump it sections”, and how she in teenage terms explains the different pieces of emotions and see them into an emotional quilt. I personally as a certified school nurse would recommend this to not only teens, but to parents of tweens and teens as well. I can see this book being used in the classroom or a club setting. So good I’ve encouraged my 19 and 20 year olds to review. Good lessons for everyone.

Own Your Mind for Teens

This audiobook may be for teens, but I know some young adults who could benefit from this information. This book is very well done and covers practical ways to build strong habits and for managing your emotions. One key chapter is Own My Actions. Learning how to self-regulate and control your actions resulting from emotions is so important to learn when we are young. Great Job to Empowered Teen for a great book.
