Loved this story. Would highly recommend it for all. What a feel good book and educational.

narration was bad

very disappointed in the number of times the narrator mispronounced very common. horse racing names and terms. please have someone read who has actually seen a horse race

I loved this book! great historical accounts of horse racing, America, and the history of our nation as it affected horse racing. Having been a horse racing enthusiast for all my years, I did not know much about Stymie or Jacobs! worth the listen!

I love the story

I like that they tell the start from the pigeon racing to the horse racing. But the middle got boring with all the betting stories of his boss.

Really good story. I am a racing enthusiast so I gave the narrator 3 stars for miss pronunciations of some racing terms but other than that it’s excellent. Would make a great movie!

Enjoyed the book, however.....

Those who are involved in creating these audio books really need to research how to pronounce key words. I can almost imagine what it feels like to have a screwdriver plunged into my ear Every time I heard the narrator butcher the word 'parimutual ' And also, the name of the legendary jockey, Eddie Arcaro.

Still, the book was well written, and for me at least, fleshed out and gave me a lot of information about people and horses I heard about from the time I discovered Thoroughbred racing back in 1972.
