Out Where the West Begins profiles some 50 of these individuals, tracing the arcs of their lives, exploring their backgrounds and motivations, identifying their contributions, and analyzing the strategies they developed to succeed in their chosen fields.

Disappointing performance and editing

The information is interesting but the narration is monotonous and does not fit. It’s not even edited. You can hear the narration do alternate takes.

Great stories, but

... horrible narrator. Wanted to finish to learn the history but it was too painful. I’ll read an encyclopedia instead. Mr. Cummings should stick with used car radio spots. Or infomercials. Or Ronco Veg-o-Matic campaigns. The author was cheated out a otherwise interesting & enjoyable audiobook.
