Publisher's summary

Are you still human if your father was a dragon?

Even though Captain Trip always knew he was a little odd, he’s still shocked by the revelation that the elder gold dragon, Agarrenon Shivar, sired him. It’s time, however, to accept reality and learn to use his power, even if it alienates him from his magic-fearing friends - and the woman he’s come to care about. With enemy dragons threatening to kill or enslave everyone in his homeland, he has no choice.

But even if he becomes a great sorcerer, it won’t be enough to fight off all the dragons threatening Iskandia, so Trip suggests a mission to General Zirkander. He wants to lead a team, with the scholarly Lieutenant Ravenwood’s help, to locate his sire. Agarrenon Shivar, once respected and feared by his own kind, may be the perfect ally for Iskandia - if Trip can talk him into siding with humanity.

Just one problem: The ancient dragon hasn’t been seen for thousands of years, and Trip has no idea how his long-dead mother found him.

I’ve been listening since the previous series featuring some of the same characters. I’m glad there is still more to listen to!

Can’t Get Enough of this Series

It is very difficult to take the time to write a review but this series absolutely deserves it! I find the series creative and the characters, without exception are made interesting and unique. The romantic touches add a flair of excitement to the series, you’re just waiting to see the outcome. I do enjoy the fact that a Lindsay Buroker allows you into the minds of some of the characters to see what they are thinking, this is not common in most authors. Thank you Lindsey for another very well written series!

This is an awesome series. I like how this series is Similar to the star nomad series which I loved …that it was all about a couple of main characters. Same with this book set. I’m buying all the books. Exciting story line and the humor in all of her books is the best. I think she is my favorite writer !!! I love everything she writes thank you soo much Lindsay for your awesome books.

Another Fantastic Dragon Blood!

Another excellent book by Lindsay Buroker.
Again, we follow Tripp on a journey, this time, to find his heritage. He wants to know who his father was, and more importantly, if he's still alive.

I love seeing this world continued, and the new characters, but what makes this series so great, is bringing back the old characters we all know and love.

As always, the narration by Caitlin Davies was fantastic!

On the quest to find "Papa" dragon....

4.25 Stars 🌟

We are now at the 3rd book in this series and we are getting to know Trip a little better. After discovering that he is a sorcerer and a half dragon (and wasn't that a surprise?) he has decided to ask permission to take some time off to go see if he can find his "papa" dragon and see if the dragon just might be an ally to Iskandia. He is completely surprised when General Zirkander not only agrees to the request, but puts together a team to make this a mission.

And so the fun begins. Unfortunately, just because Trip has magic, doesn't mean that he knows how to use it. This installment has him learning and honing his abilities - and growing by leaps and bounds. That might also be because he and his team seem to be beacons for trouble.

They actually find themselves on the right track in the search for his father, but once they have a trail to follow, the results may not be what Trip was hoping for. Before he knows it, Trip is using his magic in ways he never expected and he is coming to rely on it more and more.

There is still the prejudice that he is going to have to face when he gets back home, but slowly, his team is coming to terms with who he is and the power he has. He is also getting closer and closer to Rysha in this book and we see them finally start to take a few baby steps forward on that front.

As usual, the band of secondary characters truly help to make this story so good. Lucky, Kaika, Jaxie, Azzy (yes, I included the two talking swords...) all take turns pulling their weight.

If I had a comment, it would be that Trip is seriously taking too long to gain the self confidence that he should already feel growing as he continues to get stronger and stronger. Instead, he does seem to be just a little whiny - almost afraid - of his new status and abilities. Maybe one of the two swords will bonk him on the head and tell him to just "get on with it" and step up into the role he was born for.

One can hope, right?

Okay now - on to book 4 :)
