great fun

adorable heroine, frothy entertaining writing, seamless narration, with excellent light and shade and individual voices

Amazing story plot!

The author really knows how to grab a reader's attention and keep it! I've been trying to find books that begin with adventure/drama and it keeps building as the book goes along. Too many books are so much dialog and no action. This book was action from the very beginning and it just kept getting better! I'll definitely be reading/listening to more of this author's books!

Funniest adventure romance

This was the funniest adventures romance book!! Elizabeth Boyle is new to me but no longer. I am hooked on by this book. Susan Duerden was wonderful as always!

I had so much fun listening to this story!!!

The author and the narrator never disappoint me. The story is sad but the brave two sisters are so funny… I wonder about the next story now?

Good listen

Narration was great as always by Susan Duerden. Story was also good. Overall a good read. It was better than Emmaline's story by far.

in the beginning it was very slow but towards the end it got interesting. overall good.

What keeps happening

Previously I read the Bachelors series and enjoyed it very much. I started this series with book 2. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy that book at all. I was so surprised that around ch 10 the FMC turned immature and unlikable! All the situations & POVs were illogical. But I had previous liked the author, so I put that book aside and thought I'd give book 1 a try. Book 1, Chapters 1-9 were fantastic, silly funny but well told. Then we get to ch 10 again and the same thing happens, the FMC looses her mind! w-t-frig? All of a sudden she hates the guy because she irrationally
. 🙄 All is based on hearsay from an Uncle treats her abominablly and she detests! Why would you ever believe anything that came out of that uncle's mouth?
Even if you are leary of him, then proceed with caution. Do not recklessly start accusing a man who holds you fate in his hands? To become so violently angry doesn't make any sense at all. IRL only people with mental issues react this way. It feels lazy to me that the author just wants to rush in and SPLAT all the garbage out at once rather than build tension to allow us readers to identify with the characters or at minimum to understand their actions and intentions. Then after we, the audience, have struggled through all the muck of her misplaced childish rage , we get to a very rushed ending. This should have been the arc of the book but instead its just a few lines of completion leave a ton of unresolved threads. It's hard not to feel cheated! However, I had to remember that unlike some of the older brides in Boyle's books Georgie really is just 20years old and only 19 when she met Colin... so in that spirit, I can forgive her insanity... not sure if I can forgive E.B. but Overall i liked the love affair between this couple. I just disappointed in the scattering of open storylines E.B. haphazardly throws about.

Definitely liked the spunk of the heroine. Made it a fresher tale than the average English romance.

I liked it well enough but I rate stories on whether or not I’d buy them or listen to them again. It was good but not great. And I would have added a bit more depth to the epilogue. It left me wondering how the villains of the piece were dealt with. Good listen but not a repeat for me.

I loved this story. The characters were well developed & the storyline kept moving rapidly keeping the interest of the reader. The narrator was good but didn’t love the male lead voice.
