I kept expecting more “drama” but it never happened until near the end. Of course, the ending was predictable.

Solid but…

This series is everything you could want in a rom com rockstar romance. In this third book we focus on Lyle the bassist and his childhood crush. She is the younger sister of his best friend.

On her wedding day to the wrong man Lyle steps in and marries Sammi so she can fulfill her dream of having her dad walk her down the aisle before he passes.

But Lyle had always planned on marrying Sammi, maybe not quite like this, but he’s not going to complain about finally making Sammi his.

The two have to figure out how to navigate this new life together, one they always dreamed about and is now their new reality.

OMG! I love this series!

This book is boring and predictable … but not bad… I love Joe Arden (5 stars)
but unfortunately Lexi Maynard wasn’t so good Iike I thought she might be…

Oh this was great. It started out slow but definitely picked up in story. I really liked it. On the spicier side. Surprise at the end. Wonderful narration by both narrators.

Oh yeah.

I loved this audiobook! If you like your romances super angsty, this is not the audiobook for you. But if you like them sweet, romantic, and hot as hell, you’re gonna love this one! The epic romance for these two characters begins when they’re teenagers, when their age gap is all but insurmountable. The love they denied themselves never diminished, though, and when they get their second chance, they make the most of it. I do wish we’d been given a bit more of the characters’ back story and seen more of how their love actually began as teens. I think that would have allowed for an even stronger connection with the characters as adults. That being said, I did still absolutely connect with these characters. The idea of a love they were forced to deny that nevertheless endured, only to finally be given a chance to later blossom is a truly beautiful thing. And let me tell you, when they finally unleashed those feelings and desires, it was nothing short of incendiary!

Joe Arden turns in a stellar performance as Lyle, giving us high heat and high emotion. The opening scene is especially powerful and had me near tears. As usual, Joe Arden goes all the way there in this scene and every scene. And good god, his deep, growly baritone amps up the passion to insane levels!

Lexi Maynard was a new voice for me. And although her higher-pitched tone took a little getting used to for me, I was ultimately quite impressed with her passion-filled performance. Sammie is a younger character (only twenty-one) and her vocal performance reflects this youthful exuberance.

Overall, the story was wonderfully romantic, and the narrative performances were inspired, passionate, and authentic, making this an audiobook well worth the listen.

Sweet and Spicy Perfection!
