A Fun and Compelling Story

A good, solid fantasy story, tracking multiple characters and weaving in just enough magic to excite the imagination. Voracious consumers of fantasy literature may find the basic concepts and character arcs predictable, but the author’s pacing of the story, as well as the relatable character work make it all a fun and engaging ride full of highs and lows from beginning to end. If you’re looking for something new to try, and prefer a softer magic system with a focus on character work, I cannot think of a better book to recommend.

Narrative and narrator is top notch

The only dislike is that there is no audiobook for the sequels is out at the moment
