Publisher's Summary

In the following true crime anthology, you will listen to 12 true crime stories that have baffled investigators and captured the imagination of the public for years. Among some of the more shocking stories is a trio of mass murder cases from around the world. You will be intrigued to hear how Ronald DeFeo Junior mercilessly gunned down six members of his family in cold blood and how two other cases of mass murder that although not well-known in the United States, shocked the small countries where they took place. You will also follow the criminal investigations of some high-profile cases, such as that of best-selling author Michael Peterson, and see how they were resolved.

Some of the true crime murder cases profiled in this volume can only be described as bizarre. You will be introduced to Elifasi Msomi, a failed Zulu witch doctor who became a notorious serial killer, notorious for keeping some of his victims' blood for various rituals. You will also hear about two potential curses that sent many of the people involved with their respective cases to early graves. Finally, the strange case of Robert Dirscherl is profiled. The authorities initially ruled Dirscherl's death a suicide, but after several decades it now appears that the death may be a case of true murder and not suicide.

If you are interested in learning more about man's dark side, then start listening to this book. But be warned, some of the murder stories you will hear about will be shocking and disturbing. Despite being disturbed by many of these cases, you will also find this volume extremely intriguing and exciting!

    "GREAT!"
    Any additional comments?

These types of rapid nonfiction books are the best! They include FASCINATING stories, interesting facts and details that I had never heard before and personal correspondences from either the murderer and/or victims.

I love how precise the author is, but at the same time includes details that are truly interesting for the reader. I have read/listened another volume and it was just as great!

"Must Read for True Crime Fans"

A great collection of true crime stories. There's a good level of detail without being overly graphic which makes it easy to listen to and interesting. It also has a nice mix of better known cases and more obscure cases. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes true crime.

Yet another great book by Jack Rosewood. I've listened to many of his stories and they are all interesting. This book gives the listener detailed information about crimes that have baffled investigators. This book includes some stories that I have heard of, but others that I haven't heard of. The narrator did a great job.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

    "Some very chilling stories"
    Any additional comments?

I thought it was filled with a lot of information that really pulled the reader in covering a lot of important facts. Some of the information given I had already known but a lot I did not. I had no trouble picturing the killers as my heart when out to the victims and their families. For a true crime seeker like me the author gave me just want I was looking for as he tried to look in the minds of these killers and at times bizarre behaviors and killings.

The narrator did a really good job but at times seem robotic. I thought he had a powerful voice that really gave you chills at times as he went over the details of some of the killing. There are no repeats of words, no volume change or any breaks that I could tell. It really sounded like he read it all at one setting. There were no character voice that I could tell but this is full of fact and different voices are not need. This was a very clean and clear audio that pulled me in some due to the narration and some do to both the narration and author.

I though some of it was shocking and other just downright bizarre. You could tell the author went into dept to do the research some of the facts will blow you away and others will just break your heart at what lengths some people will go to, to kill. The author has a writing style that keeps the reader invest why giving the facts. His books are never boring but full of facts, compaction with chilling dialog. I have really enjoyed listening to his audios that at times do shock me and other times reminding me at times what a true horrible world we live in.

    "True Crime Stories, Volume 6"

    True Crime Stories Vol.6
    : Jack Rosewood

Jack Rosewood gives the listener a look inside more notorious murders, with enough detail to help see the crimes. Fascinating true crime retelling.

The narration was well done by Terry Jenkins.

"Butch, Antoinette, Mike, Msomi + much more"
Would you listen to True Crime Stories, Volume 6 again? Why?

Yes, the crimes are set out from good backgrounds, portraits of the murderers, good explanations of the crimes, and follow ups after prosecutions. Each crime is briefly covered but completely so. This is only three hours long, but it's amazing how much information is included!

What other book might you compare True Crime Stories, Volume 6 to and why?

Other Jack Rosewood anthologies. For obvious reasons why: subject matter and author with diverse choice of murders. Mr Rosewood does another fine job here!

What about Terry Jenkins’s performance did you like?

Easy to hear, easy to understand, good pace, no mouth noises etc. Occasionally he tended to over emphasize - for example, the name "Msomi". A minor quibble on my part though. Overall, a good listen!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Some people are just evil!

    Any additional comments?

Another enjoyable listen in the True Crime genre. Enough details to satisfy my interest in each crime. Enjoyable narration.

Thanks for the opportunity to listen to and review it!

An observation I made in a previous review of Book 5 in this series: "Jack Rosewood hits the sweet spot with his True Crime anthology series. All that is missing in other such books, he incorporates in succinct manner. You get a feel for the individuals, a brief on why the police focused in on the guilt of the criminal and the outcome of the court cases."

I hold to my statement with this edition!

This review copy audiobook was provided by the author at no cost. Which I can only assume was voluntary on their part. I am happy to give my honest review of it. I think I'm suppose to mention how reviewing this was voluntary on my part too
