Publisher's Summary

The world can be a very strange place in general, and when you listen to this true crime anthology, you will quickly learn that the criminal world specifically can be as bizarre as it is dangerous. In the following book, you will be captivated by mysterious missing person cases that defy all logic and a couple of cases of murderous mistaken identity. Follow along as detectives conduct criminal investigations in order to solve cases that were once believed to be unsolvable. Every one of the crime cases chronicled in this book is as strange and disturbing as the next.

The 12 true crime stories in this book will keep you riveted, but they will probably also leave you with more questions than answers. For instance, you will be left pondering how two brothers from the same family could disappear with no trace in similar circumstances, over 10 years apart. You will also wonder how two women with the same first and last names, but with no personal connections, could be murdered within the same week in the same city. The examination of a number of true crime murder cases that went cold, but were later solved through scientific advances, will also keep you intrigued.

Listen to this book, if you dare, to hear some of the most bizarre cases of disappearances, mistaken identity, and true murder. Some of the cases will disturb and anger you, but make no mistake, you will want to keep listening!

Didn't quite measure up to shocking....

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This book was hard for me. It felt like it was pieced together trying to make things relate and flow. They didn't. I was on the fence about whether I wanted to finish it.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jack Rosewood? Why or why not?

This was my first Jack Rosewood book so its not a good measure of his skill. The content was interesting. The writing style was hard. It didn't seem to flow and I had a hard time following some of the stories as they jumped about.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Herschel J. Grangent, Jr.?

My feelings on the narration are average. This was not the most engaging reading I've heard.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Nope. The writing / story telling method came off as more of a list of facts then stories that pull you in and keep you interested.

scary and terrifying

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! I will really recommend to all my friends who are also love to read true crime stories. This is so terrifying book to read about the true crime that happened in the past and many lessons can be learn through this book.

What other book might you compare True Crime Stories: 12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases to and why?

I might compare this book to True Crime: The 10 Most Notorious Serial Killers In Ohio And Their Horrible True Crime Cases by Tyler Crane since they are both nerve breaking and terrifying!

What does Herschel J. Grangent, Jr. bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Herschel J. Grangent, Jr. really complete the colors of the book! His up and down of his voice can really make the settings like you are there!

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

I am most interested in this book on how killers work and move. And most importantly, i learned and realized how to avoid such things to happen in reality.

Any additional comments?

This is such a worth reading and recommending book! Great job!

interesting and creepy real life stories

This book is a fun and creepy read. Some of the stories have weird coincidences while others are about serial killers. The book is fairly short and includes 12 short stories. The author grabs your attention the entire time though. I can't wait until the next book is out!

Fact check

This would have been a good read if the writer didn’t make blatantly obvious mistakes that then put the entire read in fact check mode. Dartmouth College is MOT in Northern Vermont!!! It is in Hanover New Hampshire which is located in East Central New Hampshire on the Connecticut River.

Disappointed

The narrator spoke very fast and distracted me from the story. To the point I couldn't listen any longer.

ok

It's an Ok book particularly if your on the move as they are short and fast no real need for concentration. Narrator competent and that's actually all that's needed with these kind of books. If your looking do in depth analysis then move on.
