Publisher's Summary

In this gruesome true crime anthology, you will hear about twelve true crime stories that baffled investigators and continue to draw interest among the public due to their shocking details. From tragic cases of spousal murder to tragic cases of child murder, this true crime book will surely keep your attention.

Three cases of spousal homicide are among the many murder stories in this volume that will keep you captivated. Hear about how two wives, Larissa Schuster and Susan Wright, decided to kill their husbands for greed and about how a husband and father, John Sharpe, decided he did not want to be married anymore, so he killed his wife and daughter. For different reasons, these killers thought that they would get away with their crimes, but the ensuing criminal investigations revealed their evil plans for the world to see.

This volume also features a number of child abduction cases that unfortunately ended in tragedy. Follow the course of these true murder cases and learn how the investigators worked tirelessly to put these monsters behind bars. You will also be introduced to cases that can only be described as strange or weird, such as the case of Donald Webb, who was a master of multiple identities, and Vlado Taneski, a journalist who created his own scoops through murder. This may be a true crime audiobook, but you are guaranteed to be at the edge of your seat and will probably think at times that you are actually listening to a true crime novel.

A wide range of different cases

What did you like best about True Crime Stories: True Crime Anthology Volume 8? What did you like least?

I really enjoyed the narration of this audiobook. My least favourite part was some of the gross generalisations written by the author.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The story of Vlado Teneski was fascinating, a journalist who would create his own stories by killing elderly women.<br/>The book would have appealed more to me with a deeper look at the psychology of the criminals.

Which scene was your favorite?

'Favorite' is probably not the right word for a true crime book...

Was True Crime Stories: True Crime Anthology Volume 8 worth the listening time?

Yep, it's 3 hours long and easily listened to in short chapters while commuting

showing true crimes

This is a very well written true crime book. it does have lot of detail of cases, and events that really happened. I wish it has a little more info, but there then it was a good book.

The narrator did a good job on tell this story.

Ten Pounds of Stories In A Five Pound Audiobook

If you enjoy an in-depth look at the evolution, execution and conclusions of true crime this is NOT the audiobook for you. The author covers twelve separate crimes in a three hour audiobook so -- doing the math -- that's less than fifteen minutes per event. The crimes covered were interesting indeed but by putting more meat on the bones this audiobook would have gone from average to excellent.

This really is a case of &quot;just the facts, ma'am, just the facts&quot;.

Bite Sized Crime Stories

Overall: A light read, not in topic, but in writing style. It would be perfect for multitasking, either while driving or doing low-thought work.

Performance: I think Kevin Kollins was an excellent narrator, putting on voices when reading quotes and performing in a way which was mostly thoughtful for the difficult subject matter. The only thing that sticks out in my mind is once or twice, on chapter titles, Kevin did sound quite chipper. It made me laugh in the moment, but someone taking the stories a little harder might not find it quite as funny.

Story: This is the first book I've read by Mr. Rosewood. The book is 12 bite sized stories of true crime. I am a bit of a true crime nerd and while he referenced cases I knew, all 12 cases were new to me. An enjoyable read, nothing too in-depth and no pointless details. The stories are concise, but cover what they need to to make everything understandable. The cases are also not limited to one geographic region or style/type of crime, which I enjoyed for the change, but if you prefer lots of stories on one topic or in one region, this may not be for you.

Another Great Installment

Jack Rosewood has a great talent for telling true crime stories. Kevin Collins does a great job reading the book so it is like listening to the Unsolved Mysteries tv show. This installment has a number of stories on family and spouse killing and describes what happened without getting too graphic. Great read!

True Crime Stories: True Crime Anthology Volume 8

True Crime Stories: True Crime Anthology Volume 8
12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases
: Jack Rosewood

This new compilation of murders from one of my favorite true crime authors gives the listener at a glimpse inside some lesser known cases. Some are of family members that committed murder of other family members, while others are stranger crimes. For those of us that like this genre it is interesting to hear cases not known to us.

The narration was well done. Kevin Kollins's voice adds a distinct quality to this book.

Brilliant

Rosewood does it again - this book was brilliant! I only knew one case mentioned in this anthology (that of Scott Peterson, who Rosewood has looked at in a previous book), but all twelve cases Rosewood covers are well researched and well covered. This book was well written and easy listening, as well as fascinating.
