Publisher's summary

It’s amateur hour at the White House. So says New York Times best-selling author Edward Klein in his political exposé The Amateur. Tapping into the public’s growing sentiment that President Obama is in over his head, The Amateur argues that Obama’s toxic combination of incompetence and arrogance has run our nation and his presidency off the rails.

“Obama was both completely inexperienced and ideologically far to the left of most Americans when he entered the White House,” says Klein. “And he was so arrogant that he didn’t even know what he didn’t know.”

Klein, who is known for getting the inside scoop on everyone from the Kennedys to the Clintons, reveals never before published details about the Obama administration’s political inner workings, as well as Barack and Michelle’s personal lives, including the inordinate influence Michelle wields over Barack and her feud with a high profile celebrity; the real reason Rahm Emanuel left the White House (it wasn’t for family reasons); why Valerie Jarrett’s role is closer to that of Rasputin than impartial senior advisor; how Obama has purposefully forgotten and ignored those who put him in power, including the Kennedys and the Jewish and African American communities in Chicago.

From Obama’s conceited and detached demeanor, to his detrimental reliance on Michelle Obama and Valerie Jarrett’s advice, to the Obamas’ extravagant and out of touch lifestyle, The Amateur reveals a president whose ignorance and incompetence are sabotaging himself, his presidency, and America.

The Amateur is the best book I’ve read on how Barack Obama is wrecking our country. I urge everyone who cares about America to read Edward Klein’s eyeopening book.” (Donald J. Trump)
“This is a racy, entertaining, informative book that illuminates apects of Obama and his team that have not been previously reported. A necessary antidote to the Obama worship that is sure to characterize the election debate.” (Dinesh D’Souza, New York Times best-selling author)
“A devastating indictment of the lethal combination of incompetence and radicalism that has made Obama into one of the worst presidents in American history.” (Norman Podhoretz, New York Times best-selling author)

A Potent Revelation- well done!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Amateur to be better than the print version?

I enjoyed listening to the book immensely- the reader, John McLain was excellent and the story was very well researched and documented for facts. Like so many Audible fans, I found myself sitting in my driveway listening, putting it on my portable speaker and taking it with me. I felt as though I was privy to a very intimate look into who Obama really is and how he got to this pinnacle without any qualifications what-so ever! Mr. Klein professionally took on the task of revealing Obama and his White House for what it is: Smoke and Mirrors, unprofessional, inexperienced and with enough hubris and arrogance to suffice for 4 presidents! I especially liked that no one quoted in the book has come forth to discount what was said- no one has objected and the author lists all of his resources, all 200 of them in the back of the book and they are impressive! The Clintons were one of my favorite stars of the book- pulling no punches with their utter disdain for Obama and his tactics! You will enjoy this book and in my opinion more liberals should read it-instead of poo pooing it... they need to see who it is they are really supporting- and it just might change their minds! Great Listen! Thanks!

If you could give The Amateur a new subtitle, what would it be?

Smoke & Mirrors: The Obama House of Cards

Any additional comments?

I would like to have seen the media pick this book up and review it on its merits- true reporting, discovery and revelation. These are news and reporting virtues in this country that seem severely crippled and that is wrong. The people have a right to know the truth about those men and women who lead them- facts are what we would like to see and hear and we will draw our own conclusions. I believe The Amateur the Obama White House has those facts, researched and documented, and it was a pleasure listening to someone report with credibility to the American people exactly who, sadly, it is we have in the White House.

Worth Listening To

If you could sum up The Amateur in three words, what would they be?

Eye Opening Information

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Amateur?

Barry & Michele's "relationships" with the other people in their lives and how they just throw them under the bus.

Which character – as performed by John McLain – was your favorite?

Inteaction between Hillary & Bill was like being a fly on the wall.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me feel sad that we have someone so incompetent in the White House but sadly we knew that already. This book just confirmed it.

Any additional comments?

Great book! Would recommend it to anyone who wants to know what is REALLY going on in the White House.

Scary

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A very unflattering and disturbing description of what happens behind the scenes at the Whitehouse. A must read/listen during this very important time in history and the election process.

Everyone who voted for Obama in '08 should listen

Would you listen to The Amateur again? Why?

Maybe - it's pretty depressing and infuriating.

Any additional comments?

This book makes me mad - that politics in the US has come to this. Our politicians, of which Obama is just one of many, are no longer our employees, but a ruling class who care nothing about the people who put them in power, or the constitution that they swore to uphold and defend - or even the well being of future generations of Americans.

I urge all, but especially those who voted for Obama, to give this a listen and find out what he and his cronies are about when the doors are closed - the Obama that the MSM doesn't show - then ask yourself, "Is this who I want to lead the free world?"

Enlightening

Would you listen to The Amateur again? Why?

I would listen to this book again because of the vast amount of information that has been disseminated.

What did you like best about this story?

The best thing I liked about this story was the insight he gave on how susceptible President Obama is to women in power. Because he was raised around weak men and strong women you can tell through his decisions that Michele and Valerie are at the helm.

What does John McLain bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoyed listening to Mr. McLain's narration because he was able to draw me into the story with using just the right voice inflections at the right time.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book to anyone, regardless of political leaning, to listen and learn more about the mysterious man that heads our country. For all the hype, glitz and glamour there is an entire unknown agenda that is being foisted off on America.

What disappointed you about The Amateur?

In 2008 we knew very little about Obama. Now with "The Amateur" and the movie "2016" we know who he really is.

Too small a man or too big a job?

This book is a fascinating expose of a person totally unprepared, by temperament, education, and experience to hold the position to which he was elected.
President Barack Obama is portrayed as an arrogant, petty, self serving, manipulative politician. The delicate balancing act of resolve and compromise that is the Presidency seems beyond his abilities. And the advice he gets from the sycophants who surround him is no more than a reflection of his own thoughts and ideas. Unfortunately, his shortcomings are magnified by the exposure his office. This leaves the reader with the impression that he is playing at being President while his real job is self promotion.
