Publisher's summary

"While exploring the evidence for an afterlife, I witnessed some unbelievable things that are not supposed to be possible in our material world. Yet they were unavoidably and undeniably real. Despite my initial doubt, I came to realize that there are still aspects of nature which are neither understood or accepted, even though their reality has profound implications for understanding the true breadth of the human psyche and its possible continuity after death."

So begins Leslie Kean's impeccably researched investigation, revealing stunning and wide-ranging evidence suggesting that consciousness survives death. In her groundbreaking second book, she continues her examination of unexplained phenomena that began with her provocative New York Times best seller UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record.

Kean explores the most compelling case studies of young children reporting verifiable details from past lives, contemporary mediums who seem to defy the boundaries of the brain and of the physical world, apparitions providing information about their lives on earth, and people who die and then come back to report journeys into another dimension. Based on facts and scientific studies, Surviving Death includes fascinating chapters by medical doctors, psychiatrists, and PhDs from four countries.

As a seasoned journalist whose work transcends belief systems and ideology, Kean enriches the narrative by including her own unexpected, confounding experiences encountered while she probed the question concerning all of us: Do we survive death?

Fascinante

Bastante completo y bien investigado. Muchos casos explicados cuidadosamente, parecen ser la prueba de q la muerte mo es el final de nuestra existencia.

Narración es buena. Hay varias vices.. Muy recomendable.

Fascinating

Fascinating information. Leslie has clearly done extensive research. I really enjoyed the personal stories. At times, I was overwhelmed with the science and data. Leslie recognizes this, which I appreciate. Highly recommend if you are interested in reincarnation or mediums.

Riveting, well researched

Surviving death, the book, has so much more information than the excellent series on Netflix. I saw the series and I’ve just listened to the book I do past life regression‘s for a living, so I don’t need to be convinced.

When my husband died, he came back to me, and chatted to me for more than a year. It was a very uncomfortable situation!

I wrote a book about it, Live From Both Sides, the book got published by Findhorn.

But very few people have been able to read it. It takes a lot of advertising.

I’m so pleases that so many more people will get to read this fine book and open up to the reality of life after death,

I also loved Leslie’s other book on UFOs. Her clear, concise, well researched writing makes the seemingly impossible understandable.

Another Excellent Dive Into the Mysterious by Kean

Several years ago, I read Leslie Kean's thorough, well-researched "UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go On Record" and was completely impressed. I had no real desire at that time to read anything related to life after death, and so this one passed me by. But I picked it up on a whim a week or two ago, and I'm so glad I did.

Kean's excellent long-form reportage skills are front and center, as usual, even given the personal nature of some of the content. There's very little bead-clutching woo here, and quite a lot of well-grounded and wide-ranging evidence from a variety of subjects, from doctors, surgeons, and hospice professionals to family experiencers.

It's also read by the author, with a few voice actors to read individual essays from researchers and experiencers. Kean has a fantastic speaking voice, so the performance is top-notch. If you have any curiosity about this subject at all, I highly recommend this book.

Surprising!

If you could sum up Surviving Death in three words, what would they be?

Survival of Consciousness

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Leslie Kean does a really wonderful job of putting in the hard work and research to back up everything that is written in this book. Her addition of personal experiences in combination give you a sense that she has thought very deeply about the subject. As a reader this aspect drew me into the story and left room for my own beliefs about the subject while expanding my understanding.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The change in narrator during the chapters written by different authors was extremely helpful. You clearly understood who was speaking.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The stories about children who remember their past lives is particularly interesting.

Any additional comments?

The sections about mediums was fascinating. I didn't realize that there were still physical mediums today. I had assumed this was a sort of fad from the past. Very interesting!
