Publisher's summary
Cheerful and friendly, Aaron Blake has never met a puzzle that intrigues him more than brooding Greg Falkner. He wants to get to know his roommate, but it seems the only way past his shell is through it. When a reluctant friendship turns into a budding romance, can the two keep their feelings secret from their classmates? Or will their newfound love destroy them both?
Or so goes the story screenwriter Greg Falkner spins for audiences and his longtime partner, Aaron Blake, in No Apologies. Loosely based on their lives together, the film rocks Hollywood with its blatant portrayal of two teenagers falling in love and coming of age in a world that struggles to accept them while they in turn struggle to accept themselves.
At the end of the evening, will Greg's risky venture break a relationship that's already foundering? Or will the real-life Greg and Aaron also find their happily ever after with No Apologies?
Publisher's note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some listeners may find objectionable: male/male sexual practices, violence.

Story
In a gay nightclub in Orlando on June 12, 2016, the shooter, Omar Mateen, murdered 49 people and wounded 53 others. The attack was the deadliest act of violence against the LGBTQ+ community in US history and the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States since 9/11. But there’s a story you haven’t heard. The FBI had a secret history with the shooter and his father. To obscure that history, the FBI pushed a false story that the media dutifully carried—that the attacker was a secretly gay Islamist extremist who had chosen to target Pulse and planned the attack for weeks.

Charlotte Bellows wrote The Definition of Beautiful between the ages of 15 and 17, in the wake of lockdown and in recovery from anorexia. In the tradition of Sylvia Plath in The Bell Jar and Françoise Sagan in Bonjour Tristesse, Bellows writes with deceptively straightforward urgency, pushing through society's constraints on the bodies and minds of girls and women to offer a story both achingly familiar and devastatingly new.

A disturbing tale of a young man's uncanny ability to remain both young and beautiful while descending into a life of heartless debauchery, The Picture of Dorian Gray was considered proof of both Wilde's genius and his perversion. Oscar Wilde's scandalous best seller of 1891 was one of the most damning pieces of evidence used against him in the trial that brought about his downfall.

Glad I read the second book first
It’s a pretty good book but he HEA/HFN resolution in this book felt incomplete to me. Having read the second book first, a book I liked a lot, I have more idea where this story ends up and feel a little better about it. Oddly, given all the angst derived from nearly every character living through abusive childhoods, there’s a lot of positive emotion an to sustain a reader to the end.
The audio was pretty good - consistent quality/volume. The narrator did a great job voicing different characters. For some reason, his pronouncing “length” as “lenth” & “strength” as “strenth” kept kicking me out of the story to contemplate regional dialects and there are a few chapters where these words come up a lot. (I should have just got over it. I did not)

No Apologies
I thought that this audio was well done for a coming out story. The characters were well developed and brought the best is both characters. Writing this as a movie we were watching, my ears could completely see in vivid color.
The narration was excellent. Noah definitely has the voice for story telling.

Give this book some love!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator was first class, imbuing both main characters with personality and sass. There was plenty of drama, angst, and finally a very satisfying happy ending to keep me happy. Highly recommended!

The use of CLEAN to signify HIV status.....
This author uses the term "CLEAN" to denote HIV Status, several times in this story. Using that term not only shows complete ignorance on the author's part, but also infers that people living with HIV are "DIRTY"
Anyone with even the slightest modicum of compassion would know better than to use such a disgusting term or perpetuate such a nasty stigma!

Story Within A Story
A story within a story. Greg is a screenwriter who’s personal relationship with his childhood love, Aaron, is on the rocks. In a grand gesture meant to sweep Aaron off his feet and apologize for all his bad behavior, Greg writes a movie based off their love story. Without telling Aaron what he’s doing. After watching the movie that brings back all the drama and angst from their young adult lives, Aaron will have to make a choice whether or not he and Greg are meant to stay together.
I liked the story within the story structure, but I was more interested in Greg and Aaron’s current day relationship than the military boarding school drama that seemed to be half the book. I’ll be reading the rest of the books in this series because I want to see more of Aaron and Greg (but not their school days) and how they move forward with their lives.

An Emotional Waterfall...
This is one of the best books of this genre I have ever listened to
I didnt know whether to laugh or cry at some parts. From the first crush, first kiss, first love to last a lifetime. Just absolutely beautiful. The story was so real. I find it hard to believe that it wasn't the authors' true life experience.
Unfortunately, parts of the book are real and many GLBTQ, live it everyday. (Its hard to write a review omitting spoilers lol) . The narrator was on point, except the Louisiana accent was a bit too subtle.
I just find this book true to life, from beginning to end. Never once did I say, why the h*** is he doing that, reasons were very clear, even though they weren't the smartest decisions. I was rooting for them to pull their heads out of their collective a***s
at then end.
Thanks T Armstrong for your wonderful thought producing, emotion invoking ( got me all into my feelings) style of writing. I'm looking foward to reading more from you
