Publisher's Summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts presents a passionate story from the thrilling Night Tales series....

The moment her eyes locked on Colt Nightshade, she knew he was trouble. But Lieutenant Althea Grayson prided herself on being in control, and she wouldn't let her new partner ruin that. The man was a renegade, no respect for rules - and the worst part was he got to her. The way he challenged Althea's thinking, stared right into her eyes...and held her in his arms. Nora Roberts fan

Really liked the entire series. Great stories. Just wish they had found a better narrator. Ms Rudd makes the heroines sound like teenagers with a very clipped attitude. Hard to listen to her. Will definetly stay away from anything read by her in the future.

Night Tales by Nora Roberts

The Night Tales by Nora Roberts has always been a favorite of mine, to finally have it in audio is even better. Kate Rudd has done an excellent job with the characters. I've just finished Night Shift, Night Shadow, and this Nightshade. I am looking forward to starting on Night Smoke tomorrow and the final tale soon after. Good read, good listen, good purchase!

Troubling

Although the book was well written I just didn’t care for the subject matter. Too much if that kind of thing in reality goes on in the world.

Absolutely Horrible!!!

This book was horrible! I get that it was written in the early 90's so, it's on the dated side. But, it was still horrible. To be honest with you, I honestly can't determine if the storyline was horrible or if it was the narrator. Because, she was horrible too. Her female and male voices sound the same in each book. There's no distinction between the characters. I'm listening to Nightshade but, I hear are Cilla and Boyd from Night Shift. It's definitely going to be hard getting through the next two book in this series with Kate Rudd as the narrator.

Nora Robert's 5 book "Night Tales Series" (1990s)

This is a collection of 5 books "Night Tales Series" that are interconnected with characters. Having read all of Nora Robert's books for almost 4 decades, I was disappointed listening to these 5 books now on Audible. I didn't care for the narrator at all. I do realize that these books were written quite a while ago (30+ years). I had actually read them these years ago (before Audible) but had forgotten until I started listening to them on Audible (2019). Special Note: Nora Robert's is by far my favorite Author. In my opinion, the quality of her writing, development of characters and storylines improves each and every year. I sure hope she doesn't retire soon!

Why is this series not all order with Book numbers

I really like this series but I have one big complaint, only book 3 and 4 are labeled and I ended up listening to the series not in order which made me crazy. I guess this is more a comment to audible and Nora's agent. The only think I really hate about some of the early books is that everyone is always smoking , but I really liked this series and the narrator was great.

Disappointing

Nora Roberts is my favorite author but I did not care for this book at all. The story was a little on the boring side but mostly because of the narrator I had to force myself to listen through to the end. She did a good job on everyone except the main character Althea but it was Althea that did most of the talking throughout the book. She made Althea sound like a 16 year old but she made the 13 year old character sound like a grown woman. In addition, almost everything Althea said was in the same monotone voice that was very short and clipped. This book will definitely not remove Nora Roberts from being my favorite author since I have listened to over 70 of her books and this is the first one I did not enjoy immensely.
