Definitely a must read for true crime/horror fans!

I love the main character Anola, she’s very relatable. The hiding man is a terrifying depiction! And the narrators are phenomenal. I loved the book!

Couldn’t stop listening

I loved the twists and turns. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was in for a surprise.
I love Daphne’s podcasts with her husband Heath so I thought I would like this book too. It surpassed my expectations. Great job. Looking forward to your next book Daphne.

Good story, but not scary

When I originally started the book, I thought that there would have been more interaction between the stalker and Nola. The stalker comes out of nowhere, which was good because all of my guesses were wrong, but we didn’t learn of the possible person until 2/3 of the book.

I did like the narrators. It was off putting at first, but knowing that Nola had a podcast, the narrator’s tone kade sense.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I wasn’t as creeped out as I thought I would be.

EVERYTHING

This was honestly such a good book! Being from Oregon, and how real it felt left me on the edge of my seat, it kept me guessing the whole time! 10/10 recommend!

Creepy

I’m a sucker for a serial killer thriller! This book kept you guessing and your toes. It was slow-paced but in a good way that built suspense and tension allowing you to truly feel the emotions of the characters and their experiences. Very mysterious and a bit creepy but, that’s to be expected. The author’s note was great in giving insight into the narrative and why she decided to write this book. I was able to get through this in one day because it keeps you wanting to read from the very start.

Such a good book! I couldn’t quit listening. The voice actors were also great! Can’t recommend enough, especially if you are a true crime junkie.

Full Circle

I enjoyed Daphne’s first book! I have been a long time listener of several of her podcasts including Nightwatch and Going West! It was awesome full circle moments when “Elder’s coffee” made an appearance as well as the last quote- “don’t be a stranger.” The book felt like Daphne was on the podcast telling a true story. Just when you think you know who the killer is, your mind shifts and it’s just not who you expected! Great job Daphne!

Not As Scary As Expected!

Based on all the book discussions and reviews from Goodreads and podcasts galore, I really thought the story would be terrifying and cause me to be looking over my shoulder while trying to enjoy the audiobook… A book that would bring on nightmares and make you check that every single door is locked. The story was narrated well and did keep me intrigued, but I honestly can not say it was anything special and worth all the hype. It’s certainly not a psychological thriller nor does it provide enough suspense.

Kept me guessing

Great book. First time author, excellent story. Kept me listening. Will definitely share and recommend every one read this

Fast paced

Nonstop action. Well written. Easy to follow. Not too many characters. Fast paced. Loved it. Couldn’t stop listening. Highly recommend.
