Almost didn’t get through the first chapter

The characters grew on me but they spoke like family sitcom characters. I’m not sure if the author grew up in the 90s but setting up punch lines for Daniel and cliche tropes about dads killed the mood. I stuck around bc of booktok highly recommended it and I already paid. It ended ok, a little creepy, but cliche too.

enjoyed the fast pace. obviously some unbelievable moments but its just that type of book. would recommend.

When I read the other reviews I was like “ I bet its not that scary” Nope, proved wrong! Definitely hummed some gospels while I listen to it! Absolutely recommend author did a great job :)
