Publisher's Summary

In L.A., Cassie Black is another beautiful woman in a Porsche: except Cassie just did six years in prison and still has "outlaw juice" flowing in her veins. Now Cassie is returning to her old profession, taking down a money man in Vegas. But the perfect heist goes very wrong, and suddenly Cassie is on the run - with a near-psychotic Vegas "fixer" killing everyone who knew about the job.

Between Cassie and the man hunting her are a few last secrets: like who really set up the job, why Cassie had to take the chance, and how, in the end, it might all be a matter of the moon....

    "Twice the story"

Michael is a great story teller. This story starts from one characters view. Then halfway through you begin following the story from another characters perspective. While I found this a little distracting with the first switch, I was glad that the timeline did not go back and forth with view changes. As the story reaches the climax the two perspectives draw closer and closer. It was a great suspense novel.

    "Heroine or villan"

this was a novel way of presenting the main protagonist who was the crook and the heroine in one person. Nice amount of suspense. The ending was well done.

    "Another great listen by Connelly"

The only disappointment was it ended too soon -- I hope he brings Cassie Black back in another story. If you like his Bosch series, this is another must!

    "Excellent!"

I have a very long drive every day and this book made it seem like 15 minutes each way. The narrarator was excellent and the book clearly written with great build and flow. The descriptions of Vegas and LA were spot on and accurate (I work in LA where some of the story took place). I was sorry it was over tonight. I need another great listen. Connelly is a new favorite of mine!

I always know if I love a book because I do not want it to end. Void Moon is one of those. Great story and wonderful new characters from Connelly

    "Tigris and Euphrates in Egypt?"

I guess this is a picky criticism, but I was astounded to see Connelly and his editors make a mistake so fundamental that I now must question other 'facts' in his novels. He calls the two towers of the Egyptian-themed casino 'Cleopatra' "Tigris and Euphrates". I first thought there would be some explanation for confusing two rivers in Mesopotamia with some sort of Egyptian connection, but there wasn't. So I must conclude that neither Connelly nor anyone else who read this before it went to press recognized an error that any reasonably well-educated 8th grader would spot. But for this, I would have given it 5 stars. Good plot, good characters and very good narrator--much better than the guy who does the Bosch books I've listened to.

    "Written in Void Moon"

While a huge fan of the author this book is at the bottom of my list. The story line is weak and predictable for the most part. The characters are well delineated. The narrator does a good job overall. In short I strongly recommend his other books especially the Bosch series.

"This May Be My Favorite Michael Connelly Novel"

I have read or listened to almost all of Michael Connelly 's novels and through the years, and I have always find myself coming back to Void Moon several times a year. Maybe because both the story and the narrator are just downright entertaining. I love the snarkiness of all of the characters. There are no really good guys in this book, but the narator makes me laugh at their dialogue, with some of the best dialogue being interior. Of course, even though the protagonist, Cassie Black, is a thief, the reader can't help but pull for her the whole story through. Actually, Cassie is an upstanding citizen compared to most of the characters. Even though there is plenty of death and mayhem, as befits a Connelly book, this one is on the lighter side.
