Story
Everybody loves a mystery, and nobody solves them like Mike Hammer. While other detectives bend and manipulate the law, Hammer holds it in total contempt, seeing it as nothing more than an impediment to justice, the one virtue he holds in absolute esteem. Now, the no-holds-barred private eye returns, along with his gorgeous secretary, Velda, and a collection of New York City characters, in two fully dramatized "theater-of-the-mind" audio adventures.

Story
Andrew Yancy—late of the Miami Police and soon-to-be-late of the Monroe County sheriff’s office—has a human arm in his freezer. There’s a logical (Hiaasenian) explanation for that, but not for how and why it parted from its shadowy owner. Yancy thinks the boating-accident/shark-luncheon explanation is full of holes, and if he can prove murder, the sheriff might rescue him from his grisly Health Inspector gig (it’s not called the roach patrol for nothing).

Story
Set in a lethal pro football league 700 years in the future, THE ROOKIE is a story that combines the intense gridiron action of "Any Given Sunday" with the space opera style of "Star Wars" and the criminal underworld of "The Godfather." Aliens and humans alike play positions based on physiology, creating receivers that jump 25 feet into the air, linemen that bench-press 1,200 pounds, and linebackers that literally want to eat you. Organized crime runs every franchise, games are fixed and rival players are assassinated.

Publisher's summary
Private eye Mike Hammer is no stranger to murder, but this time he has two to untangle - the killing of the Captain, a legless, homeless panhandler, dismissed by the police as minor, and the slaying of gambling kingpin Marty Wellman, whose lady friend, Helen Venn, turns to the P.I. for help when the Mob fingers her for the next kill. Seems the new kingpin, Carmen Rich - with whom Hammer has a violent history - thinks Helen made off with ten mil in skim money courtesy of her late lover, or anyway, so Rich claims. But Mike Hammer knows a damsel in distress when he sees one and takes up Helen's cause, igniting a series of hit attempts on the P.I. by a small army of out-of-town shooters - some as far out of town as Cuba. Such minor distractions can't prevent the toughest detective of them all from solving two murders and avenging a "little death" in a big way.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Story
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

The 45 colt speaks
Would you consider the audio edition of The New Adventures of Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer, Vol. 2 to be better than the print version?
Yes because of Stacy Keach's incredible narration. He brings Mike Hammer to life, and what a life.
Which scene was your favorite?
On the beach at the finale.

Very nostalgic
The production was done very well, without all the talk overs and loud background. The story will take the listener back to time Bogart detective Era.

Camped Out
"Camp" styled classic Mickey Spillane. Enjoyable story short and predictable. Just what I wanted for a short chore distraction.

A clever fast-paced thriller.
A classic Mike Hammer story a la Mickey Spillane. Expertly told by Stacey Keach and an ideal cast. Surrounded by the timely Harlem Nocturne theme.

Nice Performance and Production
Who needs a movie or television when you’ve got good voice actors with a little background music plus sound effects.

It’s Mike Hammer baby
The story is very weak. You know what is going on and it takes no genius to know who is backstabbing who but it’s Mike Hammer and Stacey Keach is there to play the role and played the music too. How cool is that?

Relentless psychos
Few readers are better suited to their characters than Stacy Keach to Mike Hammer. His leathery growl brings Hammer, a private eye who's a relentless psychopath to life--making him almost sympathetic. Best exchange in the book? Something like this:
Hammer: "Honey, fix your skirt. I'm only human."
Velda: "Suffer!"
Easy listening. Fun, too.
