Publisher's summary

It is now six years since the secret disaster at Jurassic Park, six years since the extraordinary dream of science and imagination came to a crashing end - the dinosaurs destroyed, the park dismantled, the island indefinitely closed to the public.

But there are rumors that something has survived.

Better than the movie!

This book is great! Lot more details! Some of the things from all 3 movies are in this book. It's really good. I loved the narrator too. The only downside to me is that it gets a little to detailed in the scientific area for me.

Not as Good as the Original

First, as you can tell from the other reviews, this book is nothing like the movie. However, I did not read it expecting a sequel to the movie. I read it expecting a sequel to the original book, which is also quite different from the movie. This book, though, is even more divergent from the movie than the first book, and the plot is a little strained. This is, nevertheless, a good book, but it is not as good as the first. I am a Michael Crichton fan, but I do not put this on the level with some of his masterpieces like Timeline or Jurassic Park. Still, this was worth the time, but I do not consider it essential Crichton reading.

Excellent work!

Both Jurassic Park and The Lost World were fantastic novels and Scott Brick did an excellent job performing them. I highly recommend this book!

Jurassic park nut!

I LOVE this book. if you've read the first one and are expecting the same book once again, STOP! its a great read and one of MY favorites BUT, IT IS NOT THE SAME. much more philosophical than the first and is slower to start, but the action scenes are INCREDIBLE. Start this book with an open mind and give it until hour 4-5 to get going.

Fantastic!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Ive recommended this book to many people. The story is fantastic. Also the audio version is great. The narrator is amazing.

What did you like best about this story?

Its a fantastic mix of science and adventure.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

He has a great reading voice. His performance isn't to dry but also not too over the top.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, if it wasn't so long I probably would have listened to the whole thing in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

Amazing book. A must read/listen.

Action packed, but a lot more swearing

There is no explanation as to how Ian Malcolm survived Jurassic Park, but he did. You just have to accept it. In this next installment of the franchise, Chrichton apparently realized that people swear when scared or angry.

Wish there were more

Grate, I love the story. the facts he uses really bring it to life for me. I love that Malcolm isn't a paleontologist. but he finds a link in his chaos theory that coincides with the main plot

just as good as the first fantastic narration

these two books are probably the best written story ever I've listened to hundreds of audio books and this is still my favorite and hopefully it will be your favorite too. maybe someday another author will pick up the torch and write a book 3 and a fourth book to wrap up a timeless tale.

Spielberg messed up. The book is way better.

Great sequel to a great book. It's to bad Steven Spielberg didn't use the book as the screenplay. I
