How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator stumbled repeatedly over words and phrases - very difficult to listen to. He had a southern accent when the character was supposed to be from Philadelphia and he pronounced various places in the Philadelphia area totally wrong as well. The reading just kept grating on my nerves.
Any additional comments?
The story may have been okay - although the plot was rather boring in the middle as well. But, really I just could not stand to listen to the reader any longer. It was not only his totally incorrect accent, but his stumbling over words and phrases. I'm pretty sure my kids could have done a much better job! I gave up mid way through - just could listen any longer - I have never done that before.
