Great thriller

I have enjoyed Tom woods writing style and his character development of victor. The narrator is fantastic. I enjoyed this book more then the first. I look forward to the next one.

Great story, excellent performance.

These books are so rich in detail you can listen to them multiple times and still hugely enjoy them. This was my second listen having just listened to the 4 book series in order.

Another great Victor the Assassin story.

I have to agree with reviewer Wesley from CT. I don't recall hearing any content re Victor the Assassin's former mentor, either. The audio book's description on this site declared that Victor would encounter some such character in this third volume of the series. I know I didn't sleep through any relevant segment, since I find the Victor books riveting. Confusing lead-up or not, I liked this book and also Rob Shapiro's usual excellent narration. I have just finished listening to No Tomorrow, the fourth book in the series. Another great story! Go, Victor!

Forget James Bound, or even Ludlum’s Jason Bourne. Victor is the ultimate assassin.

What sets Tom Wood’s writing apart from any other writer in the genre is his flawless combination of detailed analysis, pace, and—perhaps, most important—believable characters and plots. How any other writers in the genre have gotten their books optioned and filmed by Hollywood studios before Wood’s Victor series is an absolute mystery to me. The Game is as good as they come. Just better. You will not be able to put this book down! Hail to Tom Wood, the best architect in the field of assassin thrillers.

Best Victor book yet

What does Rob Shapiro bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Rob Shapiro's voice is PERFECT for this character. He can be very serious or very sarcastic and cutting with just the right inflections in his voice. I have looked for other books he has narrated but unfortunately in this genre there are few. I hope there are more to come in the future.

Any additional comments?

Yes, Victor is a Superman and an assassin all rolled up into one. In comparison to others around him who are dropping like flies he remains relatively unscathed, but if he were mortally wounded it would be THE END! What is interesting in this series is finding out who will be standing at the end of the story (excluding Victor). He doesn't discriminate between men or women. The author doesn't have any problems making women the bad guy or (in previous books) having women in good guy roles getting killed. I do like that sometimes the ones your rooting for actually make it to the end alive. That's the enjoyment in these books, not who done it but who's gonna make it.

A Thrill Listen...

Rob Shapiro’s narration outstanding.
Thank you Tom Wood for this entertaining character. This is the fourth book I have listened to by Tom Wood. Every story is different and love that Victor is a “hero assassin.”
