The story is the biggest in decades, and the Chicago Police Department must protect the key witness at all costs. Despite top secret plans to transfer the witness ahead of his testimony before the grand jury, an attempt is made on his life. Keeps you guessing

The 2nd in the series, this book keeps you guessing as to who the "rat" is. I loved the drama, as well as the romance. I enjoyed this series so much that I am listening to it for the 2nd time along with my husband. Highly recommend it!

Enjoyable Listen!

Where does The Betrayal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm newer to the audible world, but of the 10 or so books I've listened to, this was a pretty good one. Of the 4 fictional books, this was the best!

What did you like best about this story?

It was clean, but not silly.

Which character – as performed by Johnny Heller – was your favorite?

Probably Boone, because he reminded me of me when I was a young officer.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Most definitely!

Excellent!

If you could sum up The Betrayal in three words, what would they be?

Have to listen!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

- kept wanting to hear what happened next.

Have you listened to any of Johnny Heller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

- just book number one - He has to be the best reader we have heard in an audio book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

That is difficult - but yes, several chapters at a time.

Any additional comments?

Excellent second book in the series. Now - on to the third one!

Realistic and Engaging

Great narration of a well crafted suspense story written from there prospective of a Chicago policeman and his journey toward Christian faiith. Jerry Jenkins as always created a realistic plot and characters .
The movement and theme of the narrative kept me engaged and wanting to continue reading.
If you have a friend who is a reluctant reader get this book and listening together or read it together. I have and the results were amazing . We have started to read the next book in this series.😊
Good reading!

I enjoyed the story line. it was easy to follow and kept a steady pace. no big surprises or major twists, but a comfortable easy story that stayed interesting. decent character development.

Better Than the First

This is one of the few books where the 2nd in the series was actually better than the first! If you enjoy books that are believable, and narration that "fits" this is a really good listen.
