Publisher's Summary

It is the greatest bounty hunt in history. There are 15 targets, the finest warriors in the world, commandos, spies, terrorists, and they must all be dead by noon, today. The price on their heads: almost $20 million each.

Among the names on the target list, one stands out. An enigmatic Marine named Shane Schofield, call-sign: Scarecrow.

Schofield is plunged into a headlong race around the world, pursued by a fearsome collection of international bounty hunters, including the 'Black Knight,' a notoriously ruthless hunter who seems intent on eliminating only Schofield. The race is on and the pace is frantic as Schofield fights for survival, in the process unveiling a vast international conspiracy and the terrible reason why he cannot, under any circumstances, be allowed to live.

He led his men into hell in Ice Station. He protected the President against all odds in Area 7.This time it's different. Because this time Scarecrow is the target.

Critic Reviews

"Third installment in the way, way over-the-top action adventures of U.S. Marine Shane 'Scarecrow' Schofield, and the best yet from this Australian author...Immensely entertaining." (Kirkus)
"High-octane adventure....Narrator Sowers is in perfect synch with Reilly's storytelling....Those who like their adventures fast and furious will not be disappointed by this entertaining production." (Publishers Weekly)

Very Exciting

Reilly, is quickly becoming my absolute favorite writer. His characters are comic book heros. The story is non-stop excitement, to the point where you can not stop listening because there is always some sort of cliff hanger. If you want a true ACTION story, this is the story for you.

Non stop action and destruction

Captain Shane Schofield's pattern of leaving a wake of destruction behind continues in this third scarecrow novel. From the opening scene to the last scentence Scarecrow is one big thrill ride. Hang on and enjoy! Even if you haven't read the other books in the series this book stands on it's own. It's one of the best books I have listened to in a long time.

A Wild Ride

A fantastic writer and a great book. Even more exciting listening to it, the pace and action are non-stop. Buy this audible book and listen to it now. The narrator does a great job with the material. Of course, I would have prefered an unabridged version, but was more than satisfied with the abridgement. Waiting for the other Reilly books (unabridged hopefully) to appear on Audible.

Needs to be unabridged.

The story is missing a lot of detail. This book should be offered in unabridged format.

Can't stop listening

Absolutely one of the best from Matthew Reilly. Love Scarecrow and his men, they keep the edge throughout the entire story. Now that I've read it and listened to it I have enjoyed Matthew's writing even more. Looking forward to man more. ***** stars

Written for 13 year old's with ADHD

The abridgement of this book is hilarious. There are huge gaps in the storyline, characters go missing, new characters appear, unknown situations are resolved before your eyes! I had to rewind several times just to verify I hadn't missed anything.

Now to the book! "There was no hope..." "He knew he was dead..." "She took her last breath..." This book is a mad libs version of an action novel. Every third paragraph is a cliffhanger - or is supposed to be.

Listen to it with a friend, it's a laugh a minute...

Too much action, not enough plot

I don't claim or pretend to be some great book critic but I just speak to what I like and don't like. I was at first excited to listen to this book because I like action and suspense.

I was not happy with this book because there was too much action going on, too many bombs and way too technical lingo for me to really grasp what was going on. I would have liked to see more character development and maybe have a bigger picture of why they were doing what they were doing. The thing that REALLY lost me was they introduced "Mother" haha, oh man, what a piss poor character... After that I couldn't take the book sirius and stopped listening.

Stumbled across this by accident

I love Reilly's Super Jack sagas. I found this one to be just as much fun. Matthew, How do you know so much about secret military weapons??
Super Fun, Super Action.

Terrible!

This book was awful. The author's limited vocabulary and redundancy drag an already weak and totally unrealistic story to an almost unlistenable level. Save your money.

Closer to Comedy than Suspense

Escapism is one thing but this book is not even plausible. I couldn't even finish listening to it.
