Publisher's Summary

An enzyme that will dramatically prolong life has been discovered 2,000 feet down in the North Atlantic, in an area known as "Lost City". But why are the people attempting to harvest it getting killed? Why are the scientists in a remote Greek laboratory disappearing one by one? What does this all have to do with a body found frozen in the ice high up in the Alps? To Kurt Austin, leader of NUMA's Special Assignments Team, and his colleague Joe Zavala, it's clear they have their work cut out for them, but it may be even bigger than they think, in fact, it may be their greatest challenge of all.

Rich with all the hair-raising action and endless imagination that have become Cussler's hallmarks, Lost City is an exceptional thriller.

Critic Reviews

"[An] excellent series....Kidnappings, hair's-breadth escapes, fierce battles, strange science, beautiful women and plenty of action add up to vintage Cussler." (Publishers Weekly)

Typical entertaing Cussler

The producing and editing must have been done by a fifth grader. Lots of instances of voice sounding different from session to session for Mr. Brick and pieced together a little tight in some spots making it sound like story skipped ahead.

I have become a Clive Cussler Fan

What did you love best about Lost City?

The detailed account of the history of the Fauchard family over the centuries.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Skye Labelle, who would not not love a beautiful and sexy female soviet spy?

Which scene was your favorite?

The early part of the book where it describes the research complex below the ice and what happens there.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I try to enjoy books by reading or listening to them slowly.

Any additional comments?

I would love to listen to Scott Brick recordings of unabridged versions of the first 4 NUMA Files Books; Serpent, Blue Gold, Fire Ice, and White Death.

Bad

First quarter quite good. Rest discussing. Brick reads well and enunciates well. His emoting is in a class by itself. I keep telling myself not to bother with the Clive Cussler knockoffs. This book is a good reason to obey this sentiment

Predictable

Brutally Predictable, not a single twist in the entire novel. Bad even for this author.
