Publisher's summary

An enzyme that will dramatically prolong life has been discovered 2,000 feet down in the North Atlantic, in an area known as "Lost City". But why are the people attempting to harvest it getting killed? Why are the scientists in a remote Greek laboratory disappearing one by one? What does this all have to do with a body found frozen in the ice high up in the Alps? To Kurt Austin, leader of NUMA's Special Assignments Team, and his colleague Joe Zavala, it's clear they have their work cut out for them, but it may be even bigger than they think, in fact, it may be their greatest challenge of all.

Rich with all the hair-raising action and endless imagination that have become Cussler's hallmarks, Lost City is an exceptional thriller.

Critic reviews

"[An] excellent series....Kidnappings, hair's-breadth escapes, fierce battles, strange science, beautiful women and plenty of action add up to vintage Cussler." (Publishers Weekly)

Lost City

Great story. Love this narrator both in Kirt Austin as well as Dirk Pitt. Couldn't help but notice a little Harry Potter reference to the Philosopher's Stone, unless it was a coincidence in the mystery of the Philosopher's Stone. Either way loved it.

Fun but Familiar

It's a fun romp. Lots of action and interesting locations. The megalamaniac who wants to destroy the Earth and extort the populace ha been done in this series. Even the weapon used, the giant mat of vegetation that takes over the oceans is been done. It ous fun though, not a waste of time, but also not very citing edge.

Twists and Turns...

Incredibly well narrated by Scott Brick...almost seems like a full cast! Wonderfully brings this story in typical Cussler media res to life....never a dull moment!!!

Good but could have been better

Story was awesome as always, however they did a poor job editing the recording. The chapters run into each other, you can tell where they paused for a break in the recording, and occasionally the words are recorded almost over each other
