Hell Island does not appear on any maps. It is a secret place where classified experiments have been carried out. Experiments that have gone terribly wrong. When all contact with the island is inexplicably lost, four crack Special Forces units are dropped in. Their mission is to land on Hell Island and discover what has happened. Nothing can prepare them for what they find there. You could say they've just entered Hell. Only that would be wrong. This is much, much worse.
Another great story for Matthew and a "MUST READ" for fans of the Scarecrow story line but this story was written for a story was written as a short story for School use in Australia. I have to question the bang for my buck. The same price for just 2 hours of listening is not justified against the 10 to 13 hours of the other books. The story is great and well in keeping with the Scarecrow story line. Toned down in language and in gory detail it is a good listen around the kids but it retains the action and feverish pace worthy of the Scarecrow

Matthew Reilly's writing is, as usual, superb.

Hell Island is action packed hell from Matthew Reilly. Sean Mangan gives a great performance once again. This time Scarecrow and his team are up against an army of apes created by a team of DARPA scientists and controlled by a Delta team. Scarecrow, his team, and a couple of special forces teams are been used to test the performance of the apes in an action packed hell ride. Will they leave the Island alive?
Like all the books from Matthew Riley, this book is exciting, fun, thrilling and well worth a listen. His characters are deep and creative and I look forward to another of his books. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I liked this audiobook, just as well it's fiction. It's fast, full of blood, chills and pulse-pounding action. Characters are all there from Reilly's previous books. Great short listen. Sean Mangan does a fantastic job with the narration, always makes for a great exciting listen.
Very short...too short. Theres a similar film out, a link to which I couldn’t find mention of online, so went on and got the book. It’s almost identical.
Not his best, in fact more of a short story, but nonetheless worth reading if you are a fan.

Hooray, yet again another great story. Thanks Matthew. looking forward to the next book. Bye now
I've read the book several times and when I found it on audible, I listened, and it's just as good, in fact, even better than reading yourself.
This is my first audiobook and I love it! I have always been a big fan of Matthew Reilly so I thought it would be a good first book to listen too!
Matthew Reilly's writing has always kept me entraced from first page to last especially the end of chapter cliff hangers just make me want to keep reading/listening!!!
The narrator did such an amazing job to keep me entertained the whole way. Albeit it went for only 2 hours so I will have to see if this is the same for a lot slower or longer books.
Overall I'm so glad that I started with this book as it really has me hooked on audiobooks!
What made the experience of listening to Hell Island the most enjoyable?
Action from start to finish. Scarecrow at his brilliant best with Mother along for the ride again.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hell Island?
The description of his grandfather's WWII battle on the island many years ago gave scarecrow the edge. Where was the mag hook???
Have you listened to any of Sean Mangan’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Only the Matthew Reilly Scarecrow series. Excellent every time. A very clear narrator who get you into the story.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not this one. When Libby Gant died in Scarecrow it was emotional. Why Matthew Why. You better not ever kill Mother.
Any additional comments?
It was very short compared to the most audio books but was priced as high as the others. Could / should have been cheaper
