Publisher's summary

Navy SEAL turned covert operative Scot Harvath is called to action once again in Brad Thor's hottest political thriller yet.

Buried within the black ops budgets of the Department of Defense, a new spy agency has been created. Unfettered by the oversight of self-serving politicians, it reports only to a secret panel of military insiders. Its job is to target Americas enemies - both foreign and domestic - under a charter of three simple words: Find, Fix, and Finish.

Recruited as a field operative, Scot Harvath has just returned from his first assignment abroad when a bombing in Rome kills a group of American college students. The evidence points to a dangerous colleague from Harvath's past and a plan for further attacks on an unimaginable scale.

Harvath is tasked with leveraging his relationship to lure the man out of hiding and kill him on the spot. But what if it is the wrong man?

Simultaneously, a young woman is struck by a taxi in a hit-and-run in Chicago. With only two intoxicated witnesses and over 5,000 cabs in the city, the Chicago Police have given up on their investigation. But when the family's attorney digs deeper, he will uncover a shocking connection to the bombing in Rome and the perpetrator's plans for America.

As the story rockets to its conclusion, the plots intersect in a race to prevent one of the most audacious and unthinkable acts of war in the history of mankind.

Take another thrill ride with Scot Harvath.

Great supporting characters

Yet another great Scott Harvath book. I liked the new police officer character who was introduced to move the domestic part of the story along, which surprised me as I usually don't like new minor characters taking too much of the storyline, but it worked in this book. Getting some of the story from the terrorist perspective was also well done. I'd like to see some of these characters play into future stories.

The Troll's and Scott's love interest storylines are furthered during this book. A new multi-national likely nefarious organization is introduced (if they were in previous books, I don't recall) at the beginning of this story. I suspect they will play into future plotlines.

Other than that, it's what you expect. Scott busts some heads, terrorists try to do bad things, Scott tries to stop them, people die, and the world is just a little bit safer at the end of the book than it was in the beginning.

Brad Thor makes Scott Harvath come alive.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely and I have. At a time when we need more than ever to feel proud to be Americans and find a way to fight fire with fire, Brad Thors' Scott Harvath does exactly that. For those who feel like the good of the few outweighs the good of the many, maybe this is not the book for you. But if you feel like Americas worth fighting for at any cost, than read on brother, your in for a treat.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Scott as usual, smart and bad ass, he's the story of many of our real life American heroes fighting for an America that doesn't live in fear or fights against those in our own government trying to keep America safe.

What does Armand Schultz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Armand and George Guidell both do an outstanding job at bringing Scott to life, and making you feel like your right there.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Of course!

Awesome read.

This one really had me from the first words to the last. Very relevant in today's times, and very suspenseful. No slow spots or boring repetition. Well performed by one of my favorite readers. All around awesome read. Happy reading!

Ok. That’s about it.

SH voice did not play to my image of the real SH.

Some scenarios were unrealistic - Troll viciously whacks woman’s head repeatedly (10x?) with crow bar (did we really need to hear each whack), merely drawing groans and blood trickles. 2 whacks kill - DRT).

Fighting terrorists around the world

This is another story involving Scott Horvath, ex navy seal, goverhment operative who is charged with stopping terrorists that carrying out increasingly larger attacks. He travels the world as the terrorists spread their terror through Europe, Scandanavia and fianlly Chicago. For me, it was the best Brad Thor book so far. The pace is fast and urgesnt. I thought the use of an all female operative team was also a nice touch to this kind of story. If you like political thrillers, this is a must...you will not be dissappointed.

An ok book

The story is good. I guess I was surprised the ending came as quickly as it had on account it seemed like needed more suspense or something. Interesting twists in the book that kept it interesting. Narrator is good, but there are others that really nail characters very well.
