Jeff Lindsey is an excellent writer, and should stick to that. He brings little to the story in the way of character interpretation and should leave the reading to someone else. The story is good, though Dexter seems awfully dense when it comes to figuring things out. It needs more of Dexters darker side, something Lindsey does well. While I enjoy the Dexter books, I won't be getting any more that Lindsey reads.

Double Dexter Does Death Delightfully

Some complain that Dexter has lost his edge, is more sympathetic. I agree, and that is why I love him even more. It's the struggle with his burgeoning humanity that makes Dexter so much more a fully-developed character. Keep 'em coming, Jeff Lindsay.

This will go down as one of my favorites.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have only watched a few episodes of the Dexter television show and this is my first exposure to the books and I really enjoyed this audio book. I think I would rank it as one of my favorite audio books of all time. The writing is clever and funny and the author does an absolutely excellent job of reading the material. I admit that I enjoy Florida school of craziness but I think as an entertainment this book is top notch. If you are expecting the gore and intensity of the TV series this is not the book for you. This book is funny funny funny with quirky character and good writing to boot.

Yes - only because i feel i should read all of the Dexter books

I dont think there was any part that i really liked. i liked it overall.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jeff Lindsay?

I would like the original narrator to be cast again

I watch the television show. so yes i guess

I feel like Dexter has been making really dumb choices and he should be smarter then that. also he seems to not notice really important facts that should be obvious to his character. its like his character is not always consistent. He is suppose to be smart but he isn't at the same time. Also the part when Dexter is staring at himself in the mirror! OMG that drug on forever. Everyone who had a hand in producing this book needs to listen to that part and make sure that doesn't happen again. I had to speed up the narrator speed to get through it. it was bad. the book started that way too but oh well.

Best of the series so far!

I was a little disappointed with the whole Moloch bit and worried the rest of the books were going to be meh.... really enjoyed this one!!!

I love Dexter -- his gallows humor, his psychopathic insights into evil, and his amazingly insightful perception of human nature is what keeps me coming back to this series. I don't like the television series much -- but the books are worth the read! This one is no exception -- another Dexter classic of perverse entertainment.

What other book might you compare Double Dexter to and why?

The evil twin of the Harry Bosch series.

Excellent reading performance. Lindsay really brings Dexter to life.

What a GREAT book series. I would recommend this GREAT book, just have to read the 5 before it and try to do the 2 after, just like I'm going to do now. I'm down loading the 7th one and then the 8th.
