Publisher's Summary

Investigating the discovery of the body, Sergeant Holly Rudd knows she’s an unwelcome presence in the close-knit community of Bamfield. But she doesn’t expect the residents to be spooked by the mere sight of her. What rattles Holly even more, though, is her overwhelming desire for diver and former Special Forces soldier Finn Carver.

Finn has no doubt that the corpse he found while diving was a victim of foul play - just as there’s no doubt that he wants Holly. Now the two will have to come together to outwit a criminal who’s already gotten away with murder.

Boringly Dissapointed

Every time (EVERY time) the "hero" and "heroine" of this story glance at one another, the plot (such as it is) comes to a dead standstill while whichever protagonist currently holds POV indulges in paragraphs of lustfilled thoughts and then more paragraphs thinking about why it's a bad idea. Over and over again to the point of being stupid.
You expect some of that in romantic suspense but Ms. Anderson manages to make it boring and repetitive instead of using it for character development and excitement. Added to her penchant for having her characters talk almost exclusively in lame cliches, it renders the book almost listenable.
Having said that over 80% of people rated this book 4 or 5 so maybe this style is not for me.

Emily Beresford was good with the delivery of the story.

I couldn’t finish it

I was turned off from the narrator. I didn’t like how she read it. Voices of the character was Ok.

From what i got through, the story seems to be interesting. I have to read the book when I have the time.

Good mystery but

The mystery portion was great! I totally didn’t see it coming. My issue with the book are the random sex scenes that came out if no where and were encryptingly vulgar. The story didn’t need them.

An all nighter for sure!

I loved this book! The story caught me from page one and I couldn't hardly stop listening in order to go to sleep.

Almost perfect

The Narrator was good except The attempt at a adult male voice sounded like an irritating child's voice
Which was a little distracting from the story

Very good story though

Too much use of "GD"

I hate to write negative reviews but by the end of this book, I wound up skipping ahead. First of all, there's way too much use of "GD". I don't like to hear that word and it was used ALOT. The story plot started out pretty good. I was really curious as to what happened to Tom's daughter. There was also a body found in a ship wreckage some divers were exploring. We get the hero and heroine constantly thinking about sleeping together. The way their personalities were, I didn't care for either of them. Nothing would ever happen with the investigation. The book started getting tedious and off on other subjects where I almost forgot what the plot was. It could've been told in an hour or two with no more information than what was given. I think the biggest problem I had was after Brent saved his brother's life when their dad was beating him at the age of 13, he was sent to prison. I'm like "WHAT?!" I find that part hard to believe.

The narrator was ok. Sometimes I didn't feel like she was telling me a story but just reading and trying too hard. But there were good parts and I would listen to her again.

Excellent mystery and suspense with sex mixed in.

This book was well laid out with all ends tied up. The characters were interesting and the descriptions of the scenes created an atmosphere of intrigue. Thimbs up from me.

I frickin loved this book

such a good story with wonderfully written characters and an even better story line. I can usually guess who's the villain pretty early in the book, but this one had me sorta guessing up till the last 6 or 7 chapters. I still guessed it though, lol. it was steamy and made me tear up and even laugh a bit. would deffanently recommend.
