Publisher's Summary

Cranky Chamber of Commerce receptionist Betsy Dittmeyer is done reading people the riot act. After she's crushed by a fallen bookcase, the next item to be read is her last will and testament - which is packed with surprises. It soon comes to light that Betsy was hiding volumes of dark secrets behind that perpetual frown of hers - and one of them just might have been a motive for murder. While Tricia tries to help Angelica, the newly elected Chamber of Commerce president and Betsy's boss, solve the mystery, she discovers a hidden chapter in her own family history that rocks her to her very core. Now, as Tricia and Angelica try to read between the lines, they need to watch their step - and make sure the killer doesn't catch them between the stacks.

"Good cozy read, but an unlikeable main character"

The main character (Tricia) is the most unlikeable character, but the other characters make up for it by being much more easy to love! Tricia obsesses a lot over weight, complaining about any food that isn't a salad & shaming people for eating more than a slice of pizza at once. It's a strange thing, but is just one example of how unlikeable she is as a character. However her character is written to be uptight and prickly so for that I give the author props, because she certainly did a good job!
Now on to the story, it's a good cozy listen & enjoyable to follow along and meet all the characters. Recommend it!

    "5 Stars"

This is an entertaining series and a great book. In this book, there are lots of secrets, mysteries, murder. Lorna Barrett has left some interesting tidbits of what may be to come for Tricia and Angelica. I can't wait until the next book.

    "Good mystery"

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series so far. The narrator's performance is good, but a little slower than I would prefer. The plot is interesting and the characters are well written.
