Publisher's summary

The murdered body of lesbian publisher Rosemary Finney is found on a remote hiking path south of San Francisco. Local police of the wealthy Woodside enclave quickly focus on a prime suspect: Investigative Reporter Velvet Erickson. Velvet appeals to her friend and former lover - private eye Yoshi Yakamota, whose detective skills more than make up for her failing eyesight - for help. Yoshi dedicates the resources of her firm, Blind Eye Detective Agency, to proving her friend's innocence. But every time the investigators rule out one suspect, another takes their place. What has Rosemary Finney done to make so many enemies? And which one did it?

Great Mystery Novel with wonder characters!

Would you consider the audio edition of Blind Curves to be better than the print version?

NO the printed word is always better but I sure enjoy being able to listen to it over and over again and again. I don't always have time or the energy to sit and read a book but I can listen to one and I enjoyed listening to Blind Curves a great deal. Looking forward to listening to Blind Leap. I am just sorry Diane and Jacob stopped with just 3 books in this series.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes it did, it keep me guessing and wondering what it would be like to be totally blind, I lost the sight in my left eye due MS and I now use just my right eye for seeing every thing, And it would drive me crazy to have to learn brill at my age, I am not sure I could learn it and I just love reading. So I wondered about the lead PI of Blind Eye and how it would be to do all that she could do. And Bud also gave me hope getting around in his wheelchair. And how stubborn he was and well the mystery keeps you guessing until the very end. Like a roller coaster ride.

Have you listened to any of Aiko Nakasone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I never listened to Aiko Nakasone before but I hope she does the whole trilogy so I can listen to her on the other two books. She kind of rocked my world; she was that good!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It's kind of stupid but there are two, the first is when Bud has to get out of his car for the first time and it goes step by step: though all he has to go through to just get in his WC to go to the bathroom. I felt that hit home for me because of my MS and thinking about some of my own step by step things. The second was how hard Tucker tries to please everyone at Blind Eye and how for a long time they kind take her for granite.

Any additional comments?

This is a lovely book, A great mystery. It shows both positive lesbians and differently able people living and working normal lives in a positive light. The story is charming and still gives you a good mystery with nice to follow clues. Over all I give it an A+

Start Of Great Series

Unique husband and wife team writes great series with quirky and unique characters. The Blind Eye Detective Agency has boss who is slowly losing her vision. Her number primary detective is a medically retired police officer and is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair. Her receptionist acts as as her eyes for written material. Their first case is to clear a former lover of a murder charge.
