The woman was bad news; Cliff knew he shouldn't have taken the case. Now his gun's been stolen, he's wanted by the police and all he has to go on is a mutilated photograph. Cliff Hardy rubs elbows with Sydney's blue bloods in his latest case, involving murder threats received by a woman filing for divorce. The clues explode when the Australian private eye stumbles upon the high society husband and his mistress - just as the house bursts into a fireball. Now Cliff is fighting for his life on a trail guarded by a snarling dog and smouldering family ties.
Like my headline suggests! this book is just 1 of Peter Corris's fantastic Cliff Hardy series & i just can't get enough of these books. In my opinion, the narration can make a good audiobook, & the performance of Peter Hosking is flawless, & makes it hard to not listen to it all in 1 go!!!. Obviously the storyline has to be good too, & Peter Corris has yet to fail in keeping me entertained while on the road, & being a truckie on the long haul, i really appreciate a good audiobook like this one!!! More please!

You can't go wrong. Great writer, great reader and a wonderful character. Peter Corris first Cliff Hardy book. A very easy way to spend your time. Listening to or reading these books.
Storyline held together well. Peter Hosking is Hardy for me. Gruesome killings which were a bit difficult to listen too as they were so well written .
