William Shaw

USA Today called William Shaw's The Birdwatcher "an excellent read" and it was picked by Entertainment Weekly as "one of the summer's chilliest thrillers." Salt Lane picks up the story of DS Alexandra Cupidi from The Birdwatcher, and was also lauded as "excellent" by Wall Street Journal.

William Shaw also wrote the critically acclaimed Breen and Tozer crime fiction series. Set in London in 1968-9 they include She's Leaving Home and The Kings of London, which The New York Times called "an elegy for an entire neglected generation". The Sunday Times has called them "a superb series of crime novels."

Before writing fiction, William Shaw was the author of several non-fiction books including Westside, about a year spent with the young men of South Central Los Angeles, and A Superhero For Hire, a compilation of columns in the Observer Magazine.
