"Not up to Stuart Woods standards"

I enjoy Stuart Woods books because of 2 things. I like his style of writing and I enjoy the characters. His books are easy reading and not crazy confusing plots. His books are enjoyable reads. I don't really know what happened, but this book is convoluted, confusing, and unlike any other Stuart Woods book I have read. Perhaps it is the vision of the guy who co-wrote the book with him...Whatever it is I didn't like it. Stuart Woods fans should listen and see if they feel as I do.

VERY good. More believable action than the previous ones with all the bombs, etc.

"Barely Legal Is a Lot of Fun"

One of my favorite Stuart Woods books. Whereas the Stone Barrington character is a super human being with young women falling over him and an endless supply of money, Herbie Fisher is human, fallible, and funny. The scrapes Herbie gets himself into are logical as they strain credulity. In other words fun, escapism fiction. Give me more Herbie but keep Stone and Dino as his secondary characters.

    "Finally...."

The last few Stuart Wood books it seemed like we're just phoned in. I'm not sure if it's the addition of Parnell Hall but the book is enjoyable again.m. If you had become disillusioned by the far-fetched personas and plot lines, I would encourage you to take another listen. This is an engaging and fun book in which to listen.

    "Very entertaining!"

Finally Herbbie Fisher gets his own book. H
aving followed his character development through many of Stone Barringtons books, it was fun to hear a very well developed story with all the twists and turns ending in a very satisfying ending.

    "what a refreshing change!"
What did you love best about Barely Legal?

a new co-author has dramatically improved Stuart Wood's previously predictable plot formulas.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

it kept me engaged with multiple intertwining subplots, not typical of the author's previous novel's.

Which character – as performed by Tony Roberts – was your favorite?

    Dino, as always.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was pleasantly surprised and engaged. I couldn't predict the twists and turns that are more typical of other authors.

    "Featuring Herbie!"
Would you try another book from Stuart Woods and Parnell Hall and/or Tony Roberts?

    Yes

What was most disappointing about Stuart Woods and Parnell Hall ’s story?

A rather silly plot, stereotyped mob characters, etc.

What about Tony Roberts’s performance did you like?

Overall good performance. Dino's voice grates on me.

Was Barely Legal worth the listening time?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Stuart Woods has written better books with more interesting plots and better character development.

    "Definitely Stuart Woods' Best!!!!"

I loved it. Stuart Woods masterfully interwove so many characters and fully developed the all. Herbie Fisher is now a full character in his own right! A masterpiece!
