Publisher's Summary

From the New York Times best-selling author who “hilariously depicts modern dating” (Us Weekly) comes a sexy romantic comedy about online dating and its many, many fails.

With a world-famous speaker at their university, Millie Morris and her four woefully single male colleagues make a pact that they’ll all find dates. Unfortunately, Millie has more success helping them make matches online than she does navigating the onslaught of lewd pics in her own feed. But when she creates a fictional name for a new account, Millie finds herself vying for the online attention of a man she sees every day in the flesh.

Thoughtful

These authors always seem to have that exact combo of sweet and sexy and I love it. I savor their books.

This is one of my favorite Tropes, friends to lovers. It really was eye-opening to see that you can be friends with someone but not really “know” them if they don’t want you to. Or if they can’t open up like you need them to. It was eye-opening if you think about your friends in your own life how true this can be.

I loved that Millie is like one of the guys and when they all choose to go on the dating app she really is the voice of reason. Only when it comes to herself she isn’t comfortable doing what she can for them for herself.

I loved the mystery ;) and how it all played out it was different and I liked that.

I am a huge fan of both narrators so I thoroughly enjoyed their performances.

What Can I Say

I know it isn't fair but every book I listen to by Christina Lauren I end up comparing it to their Sweet Filthy Boy. And because of that I can't give My Favorite Half-Night Stand five stars. It is a good book but it isn't their best. It has all the right ingredients. Snappy dialog, likable characters, decent story line, HEA ending, but it never really made me emotionally invest in them. The female narrator is good and the male narrator is to a lessor extent. As I said it may not be their best work, but it was still worth the credit.

Female narrator was not great

I liked the story and the male narrator was fine. The female narrator though, I’m having a hard time trying to describe what she sounded like. She would draw out her vowels with this weird drawl that made her sound like an odd older woman, but she was supposed to be 29? I was very confused. I don’t want to be mean, but it was really distracting.

Wow...Awesome !

For unknown reasons I bought this audio book and just let it sit in my library for a good while. I’m sad I did that because it was an awesome book. It was filled with movie references that made me laugh and warmed my heart. As you wish being my favorite. It also stated exactly how I feel about monopoly, its a love hate ship for me to. CL creates a cozy atmosphere in this book and I want to be part of this group so bad. I want to play with Ed’s hair, slap Alex for being a pig, tell Chris to relax, draw something on Reeds pretty face while he’s sleeping and hug Mill hard and hand her a journal. I also think the first sexy times scene is one of the sexiest things I’ve ever read. They where so calm and familiar just chatting and giggling while touching and kissing it was intimate and fun and hot. I also loved that I know very little about academia, lab type sciences or criminology but could still settle into this world easily and not feel alienated by my lack of knowledge. I loved this so much I am going to hit amazon and buy a papered copy to have in my home. I know I’ll read this many times.

Just ok

I had a hard time finishing this book. The story went on and on, and was not very interesting. The male narrator had an irritating, nasal quality to his voice that I found really distracting. Overall, I felt relieved when it was over and I wish I hadn’t purchased it.

I don't know how I feel about that...

So, first let me start by saying I LOVE the authors of this book and I have been a fan since the beginning. This book had me conflicted and I am still not really sure how I feel about that.

It is basically a case of mistaken identity, keeping secrets too long, missed opportunities, etc. In the end, the blame game is where I became really conflicted. I was angry on her behalf, then I was angry on his behalf...then I was upset with her, then I was upset with him. Still, I am not sure how I feel the events.

That is what I love about the authors though.I believe a sign of a good book is the hangover that it gives you after you have finished it. And I have a massive hangover from this one. This book is going to stay with me for a long time just because I still have conflicting emotions regards to the characters and their actions.

Worth a credit!

Not a fan off the narrators.....

Book was super cute but a few times it was relatively annoying with the back/forth reading of IM’s and messages. The female narrator had a weird drawl when speaking and the male narrator didn’t sound like the sexy man they described him as. He sounded more feminine and hyper-articulated, making it just blah for me.

Cute but not for me.

Did not finish this one. Story just didn’t grab me and I found myself searching for my next book instead. Narration is good though and I’m sure it’s a cute sorry, but I can also guess exactly what happens.
