Publisher's Summary

For two sworn enemies, anything can happen during the Hawaiian trip of a lifetime - even love - in this witty and swoon-worthy romance from the New York Times best-selling duo who “hilariously depict modern dating” (Us Weekly) and authors of Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating and Roomies.

Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in...well, everything. Her identical twin sister, Amy, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag), and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.

Olive braces herself to get through 24 hours of wedding hell before she can return to her comfortable, unlucky life. But when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning from eating bad shellfish, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. And now, there’s an all-expenses-paid honeymoon in Hawaii up for grabs.

Putting their mutual hatred aside for the sake of a free vacation, Olive and Ethan head for paradise, determined to avoid each other at all costs. But when Olive runs into her future boss, the little white lie she tells him is suddenly at risk to become a whole lot bigger. She and Ethan now have to pretend to be loving newlyweds, and her luck seems worse than ever. But the weird thing is that she doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, she feels kind of...lucky.

With Christina Lauren’s “uniquely hilarious and touching voice” (Entertainment Weekly), The Unhoneymooners is a fun and charming romance that is perfect for anyone who has ever felt unlucky in love.

Cute, fun story. PG-13 sex, like a rom-com movie.

I loved Cynthia Farrell, but I couldn't get into Deacon Lee. I like enemies-to-lovers stories, and I liked that this spent more time on the sexual tension and romance between the characters than the sex.

Cute, in a creepy way.

I am not a "romance" reader. I do have the Audible romance package. Weird, huh? I don't mind a good story with some romance thrown in. A book with a story that can hold it's own without trash talk and erotic sex to get it through. This book was just that. It was a great book! I laughed! A LOT!!
I highly recommend this book if you are in the mood for some humor, and a little fun chick-lit. The narrators were great too!

Predictable, AWFUL MALE READER

While this was mildly entertaining, it was insanely predictable. Story was half baked, fine, but not great. Cynthia Farrell did a great job of reading Olive’s part- she would get 5 stars, but the entire relationship between Olive and Ethan was ruined by Deacon Lee. Deacon would get zero stars for his narration. Deacon was slimy, short, and did not convey Ethan’s personality the way Cynthia did. The overall story idea was “cute” but that’s not enough for me to want to listen again.

The Unhoneymooners

I loved it, everything about this book I loved, I loved the characters the fact that they are twins. The brother, the family the lucky or unlucky storyline.

I felt terrible for Olives sister but it was a great twist and it really got the story off on the right foot. Ethan stole the show for me he really is an awesome character, I was rooting for him right from the get-go.

How it all plays out and the epilogue freaking fantastic, I really enjoyed this book can you tell?

The narration was great I enjoyed it and since most of the book was narrated by Cynthia it was interesting I don’t believe I have listened to any of her books before but I will be looking for her from here on out. Also, Deacon’s performance was grand.

Cute, but Tiresome...

This is an adult romance, but it’s written more through the eyes of teenagers. There’s a great deal of self-doubt, on-going negative comments and a general sense of immaturity. Cute, but predictably tiresome.

Fun but predictable

I was looking for an easy summer read and thought The Unhoneymooners would be perfect. Even though the story was predictable, overall I enjoyed it. The only issue I had was with the narrator. As soon as she did her voice for Ethan she lost me. It was so bro-ey (surfer frat boy?) sounding I was immediately put off by his character. Who talks like that?! I was distracted by the voice for the first half of the story and cringed every time she did his voice. I got used to it toward the end, but I felt I would have enjoyed the book more if I read it.

Great Story

Honestly this might be my favorite book. However, the female narration was rough to get through. At times I though Siri was reading me this book. Overall though great book!

don't waste a credit

this was cheesy, predictable, and ridiculous. too many coincidences. the narrator's male voice impersonation is painful to listen to. I'm so angry I listened as long as I did and wasted a credit on this.

Disappointing

I foumd it disappointing. I,m probably in the minority, but it didn’t,t live up to expectations before rgoimg into this book. I found it hard to believe the relationship between Olive and Eithen. Also, it’s a bit misleading; as this is narrated by only 1 narrator instead of two.

Predictable, not the best performance

I had to really persevere with this book to finish it. Cynthia Farrell had a very robotic-esque, monotonous voice which isn't very engaging. The story is predictable from the get-go. Seems to be written by someone who doesn't particularly like men.

Predictable chick lit

Unoriginal plot, characters that began to grate an hour in. I do wish for some good quality so called chick lit that didn't fall into the same old cliches. Was glad to finish.

Fun

If you’re looking for an intellectual well-written book this one isn’t it. I usually don’t enjoy cheap romances like this one but The Unhoneymooners really surprised me. I was caught up in the story from start to finish. It was mood-lifting and light. I particularly enjoyed the dialogues, they felt like a TV show and made the book exciting and engaging. The only downside is that the narrator spoke like Google Translate.

Fell in love!

This book is exactly what I needed. So uplifting, heartwarming and just dreamy. The dynamic between Olive and Ethan was so exciting, I was hooked from chapter one. I’ve never finished a book this quickly before and am genuinely sad it’s over!

light-hearted read

easy light-hearted listen, narration of the male voice a bit irritating Personally, the story was I would say 3.5 but if you're looking for an easy listen it would be perfect, like a predictable chick flick.

Light and Sexy

A sweet and funny light summer read. A few moments that felt a bit similar to popular films, but the majority of the story is well developed and satisfying.

Not so much……..

If you liked 1990’s Julia Roberts rom coms you’ll love it but there’s absolutely nothing else to this book. It’s not quite Mills & Boon fairy floss but it’s not a million miles away from it either………..

I really enjoyed this laugh out loud, heart in your hands, rom com. It was what I needed just now. I felt so many emotions as Olive and Ethan found their way together. And listening on audio- I'm pretty sure I made quite a few faces too.

Catchy and enjoyable but the ending needed more.

hooked in the first chapter. detailed story around the 2 main characters but the ending needed a bigger fight and resolution between them Male narrator was not what imagined of Ethan, so that didn't help.
