Mitch has a problem. His buddy has been hiding a starship from him.

Mitch's mediocre life has just taken a turn for the worse, so his buddy tries to cheer him up by showing him a secret starship. Unfortunately, everything goes south when hostile aliens arrive. In an effort to save his buddy and the starship from the aliens, Mitch does the obvious thing: he accidentally warps hundreds of light-years away.

Marooned in a distant star cluster, Mitch is forced to deal with a snarky teenage AI, a rogue auto-pilot, and a beautiful alien soldier who's ready to steal his ship at any moment—so she can fight an oppressive military faction, of course.

Will Mitch simply use the starship to return home? Or will his attractive, though slightly frustrating, new co-pilot convince him to help the struggling Resistance movement?

If you enjoy humorous "Found Spaceship" adventures, then you'll love My Buddy Gave Me a Starship.

The story was great and the audio performance was awesome. Good start and keep of the good work. Would recommend.

Great story and great start of a series

I didn't like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (HP) either.

This has a promising premise, but like HP it doesn't earn the use of the tropes. In this case the tropes of aliens, FTL travel, etc. are all assumed, as in Star Trek, Star Wars, or Babylon 5.

I got through to chapter 5, when space pirates were teased.

HP needed an editor, but this book is generally well written by many standards.

I found it lacking in any deeper hero's journey, philosophical or societal thought or commentary. But the story itself contains fun elements that kids of any age can enjoy.

I think if it were published by Scholastic it may do very well.

Not my cup of cheese

Honestly, if you went to outer space, even if it was entirely by accident, you'd have two basic concerns.

Can I breathe the atmosphere on any planets I visit?

How will I communicate with the "people" I find there?

This idiot couldn't even figure out these two necessities.

Not a bad story, but the main character is a moron

I need to own up to being an old guy to put my comments in perspective. The story grew on me but seemed pretty “Adolescent” initially. I also had a hard time with the narration but I frequently am not partial when a single narrator must give voice to multiple characters and genders. All in all still enjoyable.

Worth a listen

This story had some much potential but I could only make it into chapter 6. Mitch is a moron! I don't thinking the writer could make him any dumber if he tried!

Now if I can just find the refund button!

Starts off great...
