First thing…set the audio speed at 1.2…just trust me…
Some have said it’s slow to start…but the foundation that was laid at the beginning I really enjoyed…it is a great ride and left me wanting so much more!

Very good book

This was a very good book. Exactly the sort of excellent read that I have come to expect from Chaney. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Great World Building

Very engaging characters, good story line with well timed story progression. I purchased the rest of the audio books in this series. I am that impressed with the story line.

Narrator needs work

The Story was good so far......but the Narrator was not great. it was difficult to follow the male voices due to the fact that they all sound the same as the main character. it sounded like the main character was talking to himself and answering. Even making the voices in his head talk to one another. The female voices were better. however the women and the 7 year old girl sound like the same person just with slightly different age. there was no emotion no sense of urgency when needed. when terror was the emotion everyone sounded like the teacher from Faris Bueller's day off. Just flat and monotone. Did not get the sense of mortal danger or pants s***ing terror. Couldn't keep listening which is a shame.

Good story, difficult narration

The story line was great. The narration was kinda difficult. The narrator was a bit to catatonic during times in the story that seemed intense. Seems like this is the only concern other listeners share about as well. I had a hard time sticking with it in the beginning. Once I got used to the wired narration, I was able to ignore it. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend the audio book but I would highly recommend reading the book
